Goldeneye: Rogue Agent FREEZES!!!!!!!

i have backed-up a few games (18 to be precise) and most seem to be working fine, so i think i have a fair idea of what to do. i backup my games using dvd decrypter to read and write them. as i said, most work fine, exept for Goldeneye:R A. i am able to play the first few levels and save fine, but when i try to start the Hong Kong mission, i watch the first 10 seconds of the video breifing, where a person says that Goldfinger is very pleased with me, and then it freezes. i have tried to clean the disc, restart the system, and leave it frozen for a couple of hours to see if it would un-freeze itself, but nothing has worked. what is the problem with it? Thank you in advance for your time and any help given. also while you are here, is my V12 ps2 laser going to burn-out no matter what i do. the company that i got my pre-modded system said that they included a laser-fix for it, but someone told me that it would burn out anyway, but using good branded media will help it last longer. is this true, or is it going to not burn out if i use good media?

what media and what mod chip are you using? also you may want to try using sonic record now delux that works perfect for me every time

I am using Verbatim DataLifePlus and i have a DMS4Pro modchip. please dont say that the chip suks, because it is by far the best chip made. people that have problems with it just dont install it correctly,or do somethin wrong themselves 99% of the time, then immediatly blame DMS, which doesnt make any sence to me. i have tried the infinity and it works as well,But i just believe that the DMS4 is a step ahead.anyway i will try that program, but I think the burning process jsut got screwed up somehow. thanks for the reply

I am using Verbatim DataLifePlus and i have a DMS4Pro modchip. please dont say that the chip suks, because it is by far the best chip made. :rolleyes: Well you seem convinced so i wont say it sucks in this post....yet :) . The data life cd-r's rock but most verbatim dvd media that i have used was crap. especially with the larger games burned all the way to the outer edge of the disc. Try some Ritek of Taiyo Yuden dvd-R. You should have better results. If not then we will start on the modchip :D . JK, hope you get it sorted :) .

i am using verbatim because alot of people have told me its the best, i will gladly switch, becuase right now i am payin $10 for 5 verbatims, but i dealt with it because so many people told me they were the best(prolly the most expensive too lol). i know that u can only order ritek over the internet, but can u find Taiyo Yuden in stores? if not, are there any good brands that i can get in stores?

I buy media from www.rima.com. I never seen either in stores however someone posted that the Office depot brand dvd-r's are using GO4 dye which is the same as Ritek. As far as the laser goes its hard to say. The v12 is still new and only time will tell if the current laser fixe is 100%. Sony uses the absolutely sorriest lasers known to man and eventually burn out no matter what you do. The best advise i can give you is to use only top quality media and avoid playing dvd movies. This will prolong the lasers life but not completely eliminate wear.
