I haven't found anything for hints for this game but I have figured out that if you seat everyone at the same time put old men first they take longer to order their food and then the business people second and then the regular people they are a bit faster. Get their orders at the same time or there abouts and feed them by the time they are all eating you can stand at the podium and make everyone happy till you get the next bunch of people seated. It will help your chain score also because your doing so many actions at once.Im still going at getting my 3rd restaraunt im on the last level of that now just trying to pick up the pace some I am loosing at least one customer in line. :mad:

I am on the 2nd resturaunt level 10 which is the last level and I cant seem to get past 7,000 points even if I dont lose any customers...Any suggestions? I tried what Stormychick suggested and it has helped but I cant seem to reach 10,000 :( help is greatly appreciated :D

Hey guys... I am at the fifth restaurant on level 7, and it seems to be impossible from this point on... I don't think there's any way to actually beat the game... there's absolutely no way to move fast enough.

Anyways, Stormychick gave some good tips... you always need to try for chain scores... timing is everything. Also, instead of using every table available to you, try and keep it to a minimum of 1 table per each size (meaning, use only one six person table, one two person, one four person...), and just stand by the podium to make the customers in line happy. This will make the colors on the chairs multiply, so when you successfully coordinate each persons color at the table, you will get points out of the wazoo... sometimes you have to use every table, though, because it gets too busy, but just try this.

Make sure you always monitor the little hearts for each table, and fill up drinks whenever possible. If you have the opportunity to stand at the podium and you see a group with only one heart, and they're real mad and about to storm out of there, just pick them up and hold them in the air until the heart in the podium is about to fill completely, and drop them on the floor immediately before the heart fills. Or if a table you need is just about to leave, and the group in line only has one heart, just hold the group in line in the air, until the table is done, and then drop them, clear the dishes, and drag them to the table. This is very important, and it sounds trickier than it is, but it's a huge help.

I'm sure I have more tips if someone asks me something specific, but really, I do believe it's impossible to beat the game. :(

I finally made it to the 3rd res. and I am on level 4 which is getting harder and harder with each passing level...How I finally managed to get past level 10 on the 2nd res. was I sat 4 tables at once and then stood at the podium while the 4 tables ate this made it so much easier on me and I didnt lose any people standing in line but wow the 3rd place level 4 is a challenge...thanks for the tips moviefan1899 :o

I need help once again lol! I am stuck on res.3 level 5 how in the world do you serve enough crab sticks to win the level? I am not losing any customers and I am keeping everyone happy and all hearts filled and yet I cant get up to 8,000 points :(

Hi SwollenBelly, the 8,000 points sounds familiar, so I think this was the level that I figured out you have to use the least amount of tables possible. If you're doing that, and all hearts are filled, and you still can't get 8,000 points, then I don't know what else to tell you. You say you're having problems with the crab sticks? Are customers asking for them, and you're just not able to get them out in time? If this is the case, you might have to sacrifice some customers hearts, just to spend a bit more timing serving up crab sticks... because that's worth far more points than just a heart or two.

I'm still working on that impossible level I mentioned before, and the closest I've gotten was about 4,000 points away from the goal.... ouch!!!!

Thanks moviefan1899 I actually did try serving just 4 tables at a time starting with only the old men then the young girls and I was 10 points away from 8,000 :eek: The Crab stick issue is that they arent really asking for them but I am getting the hang of this level just want to get to the next level lol! thanks again! I made it past level 7 finally now I am stuck on level 8 with the college kids :eek: You have to have 9,000 points to win this level and I have tried and tried and I am stuck as usual....I did make it to 8,995 points :mad: moviefan1899 do you have any suggestions lol :p

OK, I did just beat the game, "Diner Dash"! The whole process took about four hours. Here's the crucial things that I learned from beating the game:

* Chaining is EVERYTHING. Everything relies on you getting the longest chains possible. Chain the orders, chain the food serving, chain the checks, and chain the dirty dishes. By the last few levels of the fifth restaurant, you should be seating and serving *twelve* tables at a time, and doing everything to all twelve tables at once. I know that's hard to imagine, but it's how to win; the last level has a requirement of $45,000, and I made over $60,000. Don't ever break a chain, and make every chain the maxiumum that your restaurant can hold.

* Ignore snacks. Forget snacks. Don't serve a snack, ever. Trust me.

* Ignore drinks. Forget drinks. Don't serve a drink, ever. Yes, trust me.

* Don't seat anyone until you're ready to seat the maximum number of tables you can hold. Stand at the podium and keep increasing everyone's love.

* While everyone is eating, stand at the podium to increase the love of the people in line. Don't leave the podium to give the checks until *everyone* is done eating and has stopped asking for checks. If they're full of love when they sit down (which they will be, because you've stood at the podium) they'll easily withstand you ignoring the snack requests and ignoring the people who are done early.

* While you only see eight parties in line, there are additional parties that come in out of sight. These parties don't have their love decrease by standing in line. That's why, when seating the initial set of 12 tables on the final level, you should wait until you hear the "Welcome!" sound effect 12 times and know there are that many people out there. Trust me.

Anyway, that was my strategy. Good luck!

I finally finished the game today (got the screenshots to prove it). I did it by following Erinreids post above. One thing I found out, on the last stage of res 5, just sit 4 or 5 tables at a time, not the entire res, this makes it much easier, and spend the rest of your time at the podium. And don't mess with snacks at all.

With the useful advises here, managed to get thru the 4th rest easily until the last level - level 10. I am now stuck there. Tried many ways but still I lost a lot of tables. Seeing so many people completed make me want to continue trying...

I followed erinreid's tips and finally beat it. I just finished it :D . the last level of res 5 is much easier than the 9th level.

Just as looseefur said. only server as much as you can handle. do not put in so many ppls, but you aint fast enough to server them. Max for me is 8 tables.

when possible, try to server some nack , it will gain more point so you can become an expert.

I finished most of the level in res 5 with expert :D

YES I finally did it. Finished!! Yes you are right kdt - i managed to get thru the final level quite easily - I got almost 65,000.

In the rest 1-4 , i did a small and costly mistake, I should not have collected monies and plates at the same after they finished eating, I lost out in the chain bonus. I found this out in final level of 4th rest, after that, no prob meeting the goals, sometimes exceeded to the expert level.

As for the snacks and drinks, I find them sometimes useful. Dont hv to entertain them all the time, but once you see the hearts level for those on the table dropped to more than half, quickly serve them drinks, after/before you serve them the meal. I serve 4-5 tables only at one time even when the queue is long. After you hv collected the orders, go to the podium and/or while they are eating. Go to the podium as often as possible. Lift those who are about to leave to prevent them from leaving while at the podium.

This is a simple, yet exciting game. Cheers everyone. :cool:

I am on res 5 level 9..I think its level 9,its the level where the minute you seat them they want to order right off and eat and are done before you get done serving the others..I am stuck here I can not get past this level and have tried everything..I can make it 19,250 and thats it :confused: how many tables should I serve?? I have tried serving any where from 2-6 tables..Should I go for more?

I just finished the Diner Dash last night and boy, it WAS a marathon, just like Flo said!

I thought I'd throw in my personal strategies. Sorry, but this is a really over-written post, and I haven't got the brains to edit it down.

On the last level of the fifth restaurant, I felt like the two most important things are the podium and the choice of who you seat together.

First off, you want to be at the podium ALL the time. Obviously, you can't be there all the time, but that's the attitude you want. To that end, I always tried to seat patrons in groups of four tables, ending up at the lower Left hand corner. For instance, 2 groups on the bar, and 2 groups on the left side tables, making one group of four, and 2 groups along the bottom edge, and 2 on the right side, making a second group of four. (I wasn't able to do it by seating 12 at a time, as I could never get matching groups, so I couldn't sync the groups up.) By seating patrons that way, you can run down an aisle and hit 4 tables quickly and end up back at the podium to spread a little love. (Going to the podium will NOT break a chain!) Also, this way, the 2 groups of four are near one another, which helps for the all important "Check chain". I was able to ALWAYS deliver all checks in one chain. (remember, don't check and pick up dishes, just drop the check!) The precise placement will depend on the sizes of the groups, but always keep an eye on building little "aisles" so you can hit 4 tables at a time QUICKLY!
I'm not 100% sure, but i think you at least maintain the love of the people on line by standing at the podium, even if you don't see that heart on the podium. It's critical that your patrons have a LOT of love when you seat them, because they will be waiting a lot, so you can always get four-chains, or six-chains, or 8-chains (or 12-chains, if you're erinreid!)

You should go for 2 groups of 4 at all times. Sometimes, though, I had to sacrifice and seat SIX people instead of 8 because I always sat like groups of 4 or 2. In fact, I even did rounds of just ONE group of four because I didn't want to seat dissimilar groups. By seating like groups, you will have an easier time pickup up 4 orders, dropping 4 foods, etc. By syncing the 2 groups, you can easily get 8-chains.

BUT remember, you have to KEEP going back to that podium, or you'll lose customers while serving 8 at a time! Watch the seated diners and let them sit around a while, as long as they have a couple of hearts when they get their check, you're ok. After you get them eating, you should usually be able to stand at the podium until you get TWO podium hearts, which should make the waiting customers very happy.

Also, be careful what types you have in the diner at once. Businesswomen should take precedence in seating, since they're probably least patient, but only seat them with Young Girls or Hotshots, or you'll wind up with one group too fast and one too slow. Seniors and College Boys eat at a similar rate, (though COllege boys seem to order faster) If you don't keep the standees happy, you'll be tempted to seat impatient business women with impatient college students- DISASTER!

From reading around, there are no hard and fast rules, these are just the concepts I used and I won with about a $51,000 score on the final round. And be aware, you don't have to be a perfect machine to win this level, you CAN make a little mistake here and there and still win, so don't get discouraged. If you only seat 4 once in a while, it's fine, if you lose a group or 2, you can still win!

And yes, ignore the snacks! I did occasssionally use the drinks when I was messing up and let a table get too unhappy, but it's hardly ever worth the time, and it's NEVER worth breaking a chain over!

REMEMBER:
Keep your standees happy!
Try to keep your diners in like groups!
Keep your diners close to each other!
Sync your 4-groups to build 8-chains or even 12-chains!
Don't rush, let the diners spend their time seated while you...
KEEP YOUR STANDEES HAPPY!

Hi again, just realized another important tip on my third time through Diner Dash: an easy way to use the color bonuses, which can be pretty powerful.

If I try to set groups in the most color-matched arrangement, it always takes forever and i wind up losing the timing of the table. Instead, just look for the highest color bonus flag, and look at the standees. If a group you want to seat has a person of the same color, put your hand on that person, and drop him/her right on the chair he/she matches. 90% of the time, that person will land in the right chair, adn get the bonus. You will usually only get one bonus per seating, but if you can do this a few times for each table, you'll up your score substantially.

I learned that seating only 4 tables at a time helps and stand at the podium until everyone is ready to order then serve them their food then go stand at the podium again and wait until everyone is ready for their checks....I also learned that if you click only once on a table to hand out checks then go back and click again to clean up you get more points too...I was double clicking the tables and couldnt even get points that I needed....Hope this helps..Oh yeah beat the game by the way :p

I purchased diner dash and put the code in, it was all fine til the last restaurant, I was having problems with level 9 and I was up most of the night, I was too tired to carry on, lol, so I decided to sleep and come back to it, only when I did it told me that my *temporary* key had expired?????? What the hell..

Yay!!!!! I FINALLY BEAT THE GAME!!! The last level is so cool, lol... I'm afraid that I couldn't wait for stoopid oberon to email me back wif my reg details again, so I found a crack for the game.. it closed itself down a few times tho, which was frustrating.

I got a grand total ooofff... wait for it ;) lol: 593,380... I got the highest score of the ppl on the high score board at the time (Dani) out of curiosity, what were other ppls final scores?
On the last level I got 74,995, but it didn't let me pick up the last plate, it did that a few times, why is that? It totally would have been over 75 thou if I could have done!

Anywayz, I have a few tips, sorry if I repeat anyone here:

1. Once the ppl in the cue's hearts get below 4, it's hard to keep them up, so seat them quick and serve them drinks to raise their hearts.

2. Inbetween EVERY chain action, go to the podium to keep the ppl in line happy. (I don't know what I ever did without the podium in the earlier levels! Lol)...
So, seat as many as you can handle (on the last level I managed to seat EVERY table and chain them all..) but don't do more than you can handle, you will lose tables and liners...
So basically:
*seat them
*go to the podium
*take orders
*go to the podium
*give food
*go to the podium, get the idea? ;) you should also be able to chain longer if you do this, bc their hearts will be full enough to allow for it.

LEAVE SNACKS unless you NEED the points, or you need to keep hearts up... BUT, having said that, the hearts should be SO full from keeping them happy in line, that you shouldn't need to.. if you can handle it and are looking to expert scores, then give snacks, but don't let snack giving break your chains! They try to catch you out with that.

3. At the start of a level, don't start to seat ppl until there's at least 4 or 5 ppl in the line, just stand at the podium and increase heart-levels.

Btw.. some of these tips contradict erins tips, but this is what worked for me, I guess everyone has to find their own way, it just helps to have a few tips.. try both ways, see what suits you! You'll probably find your own way somewhere inbetween ;)

Oh yes here i am again stuck now like most. I have gotten the third diner but I keep playing and playing and just can not make it pass the 8th lvl of the 3rd diner. I have sat people in groups of 4 and did that whole standing thing while they eat. I have just stood and grouped same guest together at once that is not working. I am to hooked it is sick now. I would love a hint on how to pass this lvl 8 at the 3rd diner pls pls pls hehe

I thought that Flo can only do two of the same things at once; i.e. take two checks to the counter, serve two tables at a time, etc. SO, WHAT EXACTLY IS CHAINING??? That one - helped me finish the game in relative ease. You will make A LOT more points doing the above.

I would drop off checks to all the tables then go straight to the podium to pump up the heart values of those in line - then I would go back and bus the tables - then go back to podium and wait till the hearts were filled up - then seat the next group of tables.

I hope this helps - it made me get past 2nd restaurant levels finally - and even at the the 5th restaurant - I never sat more than 5 tables with the above advice - the 5th restaurant levels allow you to lose at most 2 tables to still make the goals - but any more and you will have to redo the level you are at. :)

Ive heard a LOT about chaining but my question is how do I chain more that 2 things at a time..Flo can only take 2 orders, carry 2 meals and clear 2 lots of dishes at once. How can I get her to do more???

Yay!! I have finally managed to complete the game. For one minute, I thought I would never get passed level 9 on res 5. Thanks to all the hints I have read on here, I managed to beat the last level, and with an expert score.
Everyone is right, chaining is everything. The way I did it was put each category into groups:
Group 1 - Business women, hot shots and young girls
Group 2 - Seniors and college kids.

I would stand at the podium until I got a few people in line, then I tended to prioritise the more impatient, ie Group 1, and seated all of group 1's first.
I would stand at the podium until they were all ready to order then take all orders at once, serve all at once and then back to podium until they were all done and wanted checks. Then I checked, cleared tables, then back to podium, before seating next bunch of people.

I have made it to all 5 restaurants and now I'm going back to try to get the expert star on the ones that I didn't get the first time.

On restaurant 2 level 6, when the level starts it says the goal is 6000, and the expert is 9000, but when you play the level and you pass 6000 - it then tells you to be an expert you need 12000. I have tried everything and I cannot get past 11000. I am using all four tables at the same time so I am getting the chaining bonus x 4 on everything and I'm keeping everyone in line happy and haven't lost any customers. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have just done it - only use 3 tables do not use the 2 seat table and match up colours carefully. At the end I was only using the 6 seat table for the young girls and with colour matching you can do it. Hope this helps good luck

Just finished diner dash and I love it. My final score was 833,525. I got expert score on all levels, except for 3 and that was for stupid mistakes and being distracted. Does anyone know any other games similar to this?

i can not beat it. i do well as in expert score on almost all others but i cant beat this level. ive been trying for days now and no matter how i do it i still cant win. the most ive ever gotten is 14000 and that was just once but i cant get what i need to pass on.

Only use 4 tables and match colours wisely. Fill the line up before you start seating, this will keep all the hearts full. Seat in this order kids, Bus women, young women, hot shots and then the old men.

Because their hearts are full you can feed them snacks. When they are eating pick up 2 of each snacks and wait for them to ask, if not needed dump in the dirty dish bin. It worked for me give it a try, I got over 20,000.

Yep, I'm pretty sure it's impossible to get expert on. I've made sure to do the max-possible chains, and maximized the point values via color seating, and I just don't see it adding up to 12k or over. How annoying!

The secret is the podium.
1. stand at the podium until you get at least four groups of people, after a couple of podium hearts they will be very happy
2. Seat four groups.
3. go back to podium until you get a heart
4. take orders when everyone is ready (they will lose hearts while waiting but they were very happy when you sat them and will have plenty of hearts left)
5. go back to podium for a heart
6. pick up deliver orders
7. podium
8. deliver checks/clean tables
9.podium


Repeat with other groups of four customers. If you are careful with colour seating you will have no problem getting an expert score. You can try with larger than groups of four if you want.
You will not lose people in line if they are happy, the end of the line cannot be seen and you wont lose customers after the closed sign goes up if you don't seat them fast enough.

Can anyone tell me how to beat the last level in the second restaurant? I can't beat it for the life of me :confused:

The secret is: IGNORE THE SNACKS!!!
Do not break your chains for snacks

1. wait at podium until you get at least five groups, cycle through a couple of podium hearts until they are very happy.
2. seat 4/5 groups
3. go to podium, wait there keeping those in line happy, until everyone is ready to order, ignore the snack requests! they will lose a heart when they don't get snacks but they will still have lots of hearts left.
4. pick up orders
5. podium
6. deliver orders
7. podium
8. wait until all have eaten, again ignore snack requests
9. deliver checks, clean up
10. podium

Repeat, if you do 4 groups at a time and seat them carefully you shouldn't have too much trouble obtaining a expert score

I too am playing diner dash and I am stuck on level 8 of the second restaurant which is all businesswomen. I have tried everything and I can't seem to get past a little over 3000 points. This is one way you could get Diner Dash for FREE! This is how I did it: First you have to download "Limewire"; you could find this on www.google.com. Once you have the program, search for Diner Dash and look for anything that says "full version". (Download various ones because some might not work and/or could be just trials.) The download progresses will display at the bottom and once they are 100% complete, go to "library" at the top, find the downloads and move them onto your desktop. After that all you do is double-click and there you go, you have it! I hope I helped! :)

I am stuck on a level again, but at least now I think there is hope.Definitely chaining and color bonuses are critical. Ok let me tell you on Sunday morning I was hopelessly stuck at restaurant 2 level 8 and I was resigned that this game was unbeatable. After finding this site and taking all of your wonderful advice I just now finished the game so I feel obligated to tell you how I did it. I am not a great gamer so I think that this will work for anyone. For the last 3 restaurants this worked like a charm and I never had to repeat any levels I just breezed right through. First of all, only seat FOUR tables at a time no matter what. Keep jumping back to the podium to keep the line very happy in between every 4 tasks. When you have 4 hands then the same applies it just gets easier. Here is a really important fact do NOT seat the Seniors until the very end and do not seat the young college boys until the end as they take too long to make up their minds. let me list this
First keep seating business women and young girls. Every time they appear seat them in groups of four tables at time. If you have to mix, mix the fast ones first never seniors. Seat in the order of fastest to slowest always. Get rid of the businesswomen and young girls, college boys and hot shots then seniors. When you get to the end of the task you should have a gazzillion seniors to seat which is good so by then you can chain all of them in larger chains as they are patient and it doesnt matter if they are slow as they all move at the same pace. As far as snacks go, dont give them unless you have everyone in line happy and you can chain them. You will not lose points if you dont give a snack but if you can give one it is big points. When my gal had 4 arms and I knew that they were going to ask for snacks, I would grab 2 of each snack and that seemed to work out great, just remember to keep going back to that podium and keep the line happy no matter what, You lose mega pionts if even one customer leaves. If you have someone in line that is about to leave hold them in the air while the heart is filling up at the podium and drop them down right before the love increases then immediately seat them at a table close to the drink station and give them a drink fast to increase hearts. This worked great for me. Please write back and let me know if this worked for you. I am so happy I beat the game and I am going back now to try and get the expert score in the lower levels. Its funny but I couldnt get expert scores in the beginning and by the time I got to the end, I was able to get expert scores easily. I hope they make a sequel of this game it was really cute. OMG I am such a dingbat.. I did not know that you can chain with giving bills and cleaning dishes.. I am finally done the game and now I am going to go back and get expert on all the levels. What I ended up doing was seating the women like it was posted.. then the young guys to older guys but I also left all the tables dirty and just waited till I had 12 tables to clear the multiplier was really high by time I was done cleaning all 12 tables.. I even lost 4 tables in the final level and still even beat the expert score.. thanks to all who had posted and helped me and others out. :D

HI there, I think you directed your question to someone else but I just had to chime in, I would never, ever seat and serve 12 tables at once, I finished the entire game by seating only four tables at a time and keeping everyone in the line happy at all times so I didnt lose any customers. I am sure that you could do six but I have a touch pad not a regular mouse so I have to go a little slower than most. Point is, you can win this game if you are patient, Keep an eye on the hearts at all time. If you read my other posts in this thread it states what I did to win the game and believe me I was stuck at restaurant 2 level 8 for days and I almost gave up until I came here. I too was clearing the dishes right after paying the bill and not chaining correctly. That was losing me big points and I suspect that could be happening to others. Snacks give big points but only do them if you have plenty of time. Its not worth the points a snack gives you if it costs you a customer in line Also, seat in the order of speed. Businesswomen, little girls, hotshots, college boys and seniors. If you have all seniors at the end of your turn, you can take your time an chain big points. Color bonuses are important too in the high levels. I really wish you all luck and when you get to the last restaurant you will have 4 arms to work with and the game gets crazy fun~ I hope they make a sequel with desserts and other things. Hi Debris no problem at all. :) I know what you mean about the first few people showing up in line are seniors and the young boys but it is totally ok to skip them and wait for the businesswomen and girls to show up in line. Just pick and choose who you want to seat but only seat 4 tables at a time. I suppose 6 would work too if you are fast but I found 4 works best for me and when I get to the end I have a huge line of Seniors and this is when I will really go for it and seat all that I can and go for color bonuses and huge chaining scores. I give the seniors snacks and build alot of points with that huge chain at the end. They are very patient in line and in the seats. As far as that line goes remember that customers can line up all the way to the back of the door with the closed sign up and as long as you are standing at that podium and keeping the hearts full they can sit there all night if you kept doing it. I have tried this and tested my theory and the game will not end until you get each person out of line. Pretty cool! I hope I am explaining this clearly. I have been able to get an expert score on every single level of this game now so I am pretty certain that my methods are effective and I am not a super fast moving gamer so have fun and use good strategy and you will have this game licked in no time. Also if anyone is interested if you could download a game called DIGBYS DONUTS it is really difficult and I think if you like Diner Dash you will like Digbys. It is really hard in the franchise mode on the last 6 levels. I would love to hear if anyone has any hints or tips for this game. I posted about this in another thread but no one has responded. Chaining is when you do something to more then one table at a time. Example: You have 6 tables, you pick up the six one after another (you get a bonus). The food pops up, and then you deliver the food to all six tables (you get another bonus).

Any hints on Res 5 lvl 9? It's driving my CRAZY :eek:

The secret is the podium.
1. stand at the podium until you get at least four groups of people, after a couple of podium hearts they will be very happy
2. Seat four groups.
3. go back to podium until you get a heart
4. take orders when everyone is ready (they will lose hearts while waiting but they were very happy when you sat them and will have plenty of hearts left)
5. go back to podium for a heart
6. pick up deliver orders
7. podium
8. deliver checks/clean tables
9.podium


Repeat with other groups of four customers. If you are careful with colour seating you will have no problem getting an expert score. You can try with larger than groups of four if you want.
You will not lose people in line if they are happy, the end of the line cannot be seen and you wont lose customers after the closed sign goes up if you don't seat them fast enough.

Thanks for all of the advice posted here. Anyone who is having problems should go back and read every page of this thread. I have gone through the game three times now, the third time trying to get expert scores.

Now, I am stuck...

I can't get 12000 on level 4-4 to save my life. This morning I got 11965 and I had one table left to clear. Of course, the game ended and recorded my score before Flo got to walk over to that table. I've tried everything! Anyone have any ideas?

The other level I can't get expert on is in the 5th restaurant where everyone is in a hurry. I can barely make the reg goal, and expert is 10000 more points!

Thanks again to all of you who posted. The tips and tricks saved my sanity! If anyone can help with these last 2, I'd really appreciate it!!

I finally got expert on level 4-4, which I did by filling as many tables as I could at once, so my chains were extra long.

I'm still working on the "hurry" level on restaurant 5. I can't get over 22000, and expert is 30000.

That happened to me on that level also. Yesterday, I got over 28,000 though. When I first got past that level, the way I did it was this:

I seated 4 groups at time as close together as possible, like down the counter and directly across from it. As soon as you take the 4 group's orders, put them in, and if possible (if the seated have a decent amount of hearts), go to the podium until you fill the heart there.

Then, serve the food and immediately click the table to give the check...sometimes it looks like they'll still be eating, but they finish so quickly, that by the time Flo gets there, they're done.

As soon as you click the last table to give the check, click it again to clean it, then click the other 3 and dump em.

Go back to the podium, and unless anyone has under three hearts, you should be able to wait until you get a full heart and then seat 4 more groups. I try to seat the business women first and then the college kids, as they're more impatient.

Continue on this way and you'll get a rhythm going. seat four, take orders, podium, serve food, immediately give checks for all four and back track to clean up. Go to the podium and try to look for the best color bonuses while you're there so you can plan.

This took me a few tries and I did have to try to remain calm to get the best seating bonuses. If you lose even one table, you probably won't get there. Keep your eye on the business women and the college kids. If they are really angry, drop them in a seat, pick up their order and get them a drink. This will mess up your order chain, but it's better than losing them.

Hope this helps. I'm still trying to get expert...it's driving me insane. I started seating 6 tables at time, then 7 to get longer chains...still not enough. I tried seating four more after the initial four were done eating and I didn't clean up the tables until I had all 8 to chain. Unfortunately, by that time, I had people leaving the line.

Oh well, I'll just keep trying!

I finally got expert on level 5-8. I really was starting to think it was impossible. The way I did it was to consistently seat at least 6 groups along the counter and across and using one of the 6 tops when absolutely necessary. I made sure I went back to the podium EVERY time after putting the orders in, and I let them smoke their little heads off at the table until I had a full heart at the podium. When it was smaller groups, I sat 7 or even 8 groups and while at the podium, I tried to plan my color bonus strategy.

At the end, I had about 8 small groups in line with full hearts, so I sat all of them calmly in the best color choices. Half way through cleaning up the tables, I made expert, so it was just barely.

SO...now what to do...I need another game like Diner Dash!

:D I can help....I am at the 5th restaraunt 10th level. Its really cool...reminds me of a genie. Anyway I was REALLy stuck on the third restaraunt. But I tried something and it works. I would start by seating people two or three tables at a time and I grouped them in this order. First the african american business woman, then I did the girls, then the college kids, then mr hot shot, and lastely the elderly men. The business woman have the least patience and the elderly have the most. By seating them like that it gave me PLENTY of time to go to the podeum to make them happy. It was more relaxed and enjoyable. I didnt lose any one until i got to the fifth restaraunt 10th level. I wonder how far it goes. Dont forget though that while they are eating is when you should go to the podeum. Good luck!!!let me know okay? :confused:

It makes it easier if you seat people in groups of three or four. Group them together....business woman, elderly etc. I also found out it helps to collect all the money first from every table and then go back and clear the dishes. When they are eating at the same time talk to people in line. Watch how fast you fly. Dont always worry about the drinks, they only help a little. Chaining is most important. When you deliver the food, deliver all the tables. Dont get a drink in between it breaks your chain. Always do same actions together. Like picking up orders etc.

This is how I got expert on 3-8 (after trying several different things).

I only used 4 tables and sat 4 groups at a time. I used the two six seaters and two of the 4 seaters (never used any two seaters). I went to the podium in the beginning until I had a decent line formed. Then I sat 4 groups, using the best color schemes I could, even if I sat 2 people at a six seater. I also sat everyone before the senior citizens.

After seating them, I go back to the podium. If everyone in line is happy, I'll get crab sticks...if not, then I let it go. I stay at the podium until everyone's menu is down, then collect the orders and drop them. Then back to the podium. Then give out all the food and back to the podium. Wait until all plates are empty and give out all checks. Then go and clear off 2 tables, then the other two.

Then, back to the podium, where I try to figure out the best color matches before seating anyone. You can really rack up a lot of points if you choose carefully.

Just make sure you use the same four tables and only seat four groups at a time. When I got over 12000 points, I had 4 groups of senior citizens still in line, and it was way easy after that.

After a full heart, go pick up and drop off orders. Back to the podium until you get a heart. Drop off the food, back to the podium. Give checks to all four then clear off 2, then the other 2. Back to the podium.

Carefully plan you color matching. This got me over 2000 points toward the end of the game at one seating.

Just make sure to consistently use just 4 tables to get your color bonuses up, and keep going back to the podium. As long as the seated people have a decent amount of hearts, let them wait.

My poor eyes are wishing i would stop for awhile and rest, but it's driving me crazy cause i only have 3 more levels and i beat the beautiful golden Indian restaurant levels, and the diner dash game :D

I just went back to play that level. I ended up getting expert, and I even lost a group of college kids. This is what I did:

I only used the counter, the 4 seater next to it and the two 6 seaters. I sat 5-6 groups at a time, depending on how many I could fit at the counter.

I used all of the strategies mentioned in my other posts, but of course, this time, you can clean off 4 tables than go back for the other one or two.

Make sure you give out all your checks in one chain and then go back and clear. Also, as far as snacks go, I did give them out, but only if everyone in line was happy and if I didn't have to break a chain.

I always wait til ALL menus are down before I pick up any orders...that way no one surprises me by ordering snacks, making me break the chain if I do decide to get the snack for them. I also drop off no checks until ALL plates are clear. It always seems like one of them wants a snack before they signal for their check.

Watch your colors...even if you have to sit two at a 6 seater, do it if you rack up color bonuses.

I just went back to that...it is a hard one!

I used only the counter and tables directly across from it...I ignored the rest. I sat at least 5 groups, sometimes six at a time. At the end, I had only 3 groups of seniors.

I did have to break the chain a couple times to give drinks to seated customers who were smoking and were ready to leave and about half the time I ignored the snacks.

I did watch my colors, but concentrated on getting to the podium whenever I could...especially when I was waiting for all of them to be ready to order. I usually don't do that, but this time they were getting angry faster. So as soon as I sat the groups, I went back to the podium and waited til i got a heart. By this time, the menus were all down. I took the orders and dropped them, then back to the podium.

Also, make sure you're at the podium when seating people. If anyone is really angry and you're seating them, if you keep your mouse on them and don't unclick until you're heart's filled, up, they will get happier too. If you miss it, go grab them a drink so they'll gain a couple more hearts to buy you some time.

I just went back to play that level. I ended up getting expert, and I even lost a group of college kids. This is what I did:

I only used the counter, the 4 seater next to it and the two 6 seaters. I sat 5-6 groups at a time, depending on how many I could fit at the counter.

I used all of the strategies mentioned in my other posts, but of course, this time, you can clean off 4 tables than go back for the other one or two.

Make sure you give out all your checks in one chain and then go back and clear. Also, as far as snacks go, I did give them out, but only if everyone in line was happy and if I didn't have to break a chain.

I always wait til ALL menus are down before I pick up any orders...that way no one surprises me by ordering snacks, making me break the chain if I do decide to get the snack for them. I also drop off no checks until ALL plates are clear. It always seems like one of them wants a snack before they signal for their check.

Watch your colors...even if you have to sit two at a 6 seater, do it if you rack up color bonuses.

The way I did it was to consistently seat at least 6 groups along the counter and across from it and using one of the 6 tops when absolutely necessary. I made sure I went back to the podium EVERY time after putting the orders in, and I let them smoke their little heads off at the table until I had a full heart at the podium. When it was smaller groups, I sat 7 or even 8 groups and while at the podium, I tried to plan my color bonus strategy.

At the end, I had about 8 small groups in line with full hearts, so I sat all of them calmly in the best color choices. Half way through cleaning up the tables, I made expert, so it was just barely.

This is from my post when I finally beat the level, but not expert:

I sat 4 groups at time as close together as possible, like down the counter and directly across from it. As soon as you take the 4 group's orders, put them in, and if possible (if the seated have a decent amount of hearts), go to the podium until you fill the heart there.

Then, serve the food and immediately click the tables to give the checks...sometimes it looks like they'll still be eating, but they finish so quickly, that by the time Flo gets there, they're done.

As soon as you click the last table to give the check, click it again to clean it, then click the other 3 and dump em.

Go back to the podium, and unless anyone has under three hearts, you should be able to wait until you get a full heart and then seat 4 more groups. I try to seat the business women first and then the college kids, as they're more impatient.

Continue on this way and you'll get a rhythm going. seat four, take orders, podium, serve food, immediately give checks for all four and back track to clean up. Go to the podium and try to look for the best color bonuses while you're there so you can plan.

I only used the two 6 seaters, the two 4 seaters and only 2 of the 2 seaters. Ignore the counter and the other 2 seaters.

Seat only 4 groups at a time and watch your colors. Seat business women, college kids, girls, hot shots first, leave the old men 'til last.

Take all 4 order, drop them, podium, pick up all four orders, deliver them, podium. When all plates are clean, click all 4 to give checks and then backtrack all 4 to clean up.

I did give snacks if everyone in line was happy. Make sure you wait until ALL menus are down before you pick up orders so no one surprises you by asking for a snack before they order, lest you break your chain.

Same thing with clearing. Wait until all plates are clean, so they can't ask for snacks and mess you up.

I got expert doing it like this and it was smooth sailing. At the end, I had 5 or 6 groups of old men, who I sat all at the same time.

I really hope they come out with a Diner Dash 2, because I'm really bored too. I NEVER played computer games, but for some reason this one hooked me.

I'm on my third way around playing and if I don't get expert, I do the level again...how sad is that? :rolleyes:

My kids say I'm addicted, but i only play a little in the morning before everyone else is up and at night for about 45 minutes before I go to bed. :D

It REALLY DOES help to keep going back to the podium as often as you can. I take orders and give the food, then go to podium and go back as often as I can and sometimes make the people at the table wait a little while if they have lots of hearts. It really make sit a lot easier to get through the levels. I hate it when they ask for bread or crabsticks. I think that part is annoying, but it keeps it challenging.

I just went back to that level...failed on the first try by seating only tables at a time, so I figured the color bonuses weren't the key here.

The second time I did make expert, but only barely. I sat the first 4 groups, then waited until there was three or four more in line and then sat them. I treated them seperate though...In other words, I took orders from the first four and then delivered their food. Then orders from the other 4 and delivered their food. Went back and cleared the first four and sat more people.

At one point, I chained 7-8 tables when clearing and then just sat whoever came in, so no one was really waiting in line.

It is a pain in the butt level...you can't depend on the podium and seating only 4 at a time. In a couple of cases, I did have to give them drinks because when I sat them, they were down to three stars. Just do it before they put their menus down, so you don't mess up your chain.

:D I made it to level 5-8 in 5 days. its possable to get en expert score on the level before, all the hints to beat the levels before really helped until this point as far as the order to serve people. but at this level it is clear that the podium and snacks will do u no good really cuz the people eat to quick, finish to quick and r ready 2 quick. its easy to chains like crazy but im loosing at least 3 people and im falling at least 5000 behind, n the level left after that can only be harder, r there more resturants after the 5th? can this 1 be beaten? :confused:

you don't have to carry them all at once (with both arms), just do them in a row, you don't even have to pick up 2 at a time, you can do each one separately.. hope i was clear :)

plumb I discovered a little tip that helps a lot with Diner Dash!! Once you get the podium, go stand at it at the beginning of EVERY game and talk to the customers. This fills their hearts up all the way and once you have enough in line to seat, you can do it all at once. That way IF someone gets a little unhappy, you have time to run and give them a drink when you're not standing at the podium (while they're eating) to keep the waiting customers happy!! :p

I am having a really hard time getting past the last level of the 4th restaraunt. I've tried seating 4 at a time but it doesn't seem logical and it hasn't worked. My problem isn't with the timing of the people and seating them, it's that I end up breaking chains giving out bread and people get very upset when they don't get their bread. So do I go over to the podium and make those people happy? Or do I give bread to make the seated people happy? Either way I lose someone. If I'm giving out bread, the people in the line get mad and leave, if I'm standing at the podium for what seems like hours, the people that are seated get mad. I've gotten increasingly WORSE at this level because I'm confused and don't know what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions? It seems like most don't have trouble with this level so I must be doing something wrong, out of the ordinary. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :)

When I left my dreary office job and started the life journey of running my own restaurant, I had to learn the ropes all on my own. As my restaurant business grew, I learned how to best manage my business and keep my customers happy.
Now I want to share what I’ve have learned with up and coming restaurateurs like yourself. The following information shows the ways I use the upgrades I’ve purchased for my restaurants, and tricks of the trade I’ve picked up to keep my customers coming back. I hope my advice can help you grow your own restaurant business. Let’s do this!

Restaurant Improvements:
Drink Stations (coffee, tiki punch, wine, etc.):
• Giving a customer a drink will make them happier while they are dining.
• It’s not required to give a drink to every customer.
• While the type of beverage changes from restaurant to restaurant, their effects don’t change.
• Drinks are not always available for use; a highlight will appear when it is. Drinks are most useful to stop customers from leaving when their hearts are very low.
• It is best to give customers a drink after making them wait to be seated for a long time, or delaying their food delivery.
• If you have a drink with no customer to serve it to, drop it off in the dirty dishes bin.
Podium:
• Podiums are used to keep customers happy while waiting in line to be seated.
• For podiums to be effective, you must stand at the podium until the heart is full.
• Leaving the podium before the heart is full resets it to empty and you will need to start over when returning.
• It is best to use the podium when seating customers at their tables, all seated customers are reading their menus, or customers are eating their meals.
• Try to return to the podium often when the waiting line is long.
Snack Stations (bread, Nan, etc.):
• Only serve snacks to customers that specifically request them. Customers will not accept snacks otherwise.
• Do not serve snacks while in the middle of performing an action chain (order taking, food serving, etc.), as that will interrupt the chain and any bonus point earning.
• On the other hand, snacks give a good amount of bonus point and you should certainly try to serve them when you are not in the middle of a chain.
• If you fail to serve customers an ordered snack, you can still serve them a drink to raise their happiness again.
• If you have a snack with no customer to serve it to, drop it off in the dirty dishes bin.
The following restaurant improvements are only available in Endless Shift mode:
Oven:
• Purchasing an oven will allow your chef to complete customers’ meals faster. Upgrading ovens will increase the speed.
• Faster food delivery times will help you ‘turn over’ your tables and seat customers faster.
• An oven is always active once chosen.
Performer:
• Hiring a performer will slow the rate at which customers become unhappy in line. Upgrading performers will increase the unhappiness rate reduction.
• Using a performer can be used in conjunction with using a podium.
• A performer is always active once chosen.
Running Shoes:
• Running shoes allow you to run faster. Upgraded running shoes increase your running speed further.
• Faster running speed means customers will have their order taken, food & drinks delivered, and checks delivered faster. This keeps customers happier and help ‘turn over’ tables faster.
• Running shoes are always active once chosen.
Stereo System:
• Purchasing a stereo system for the restaurant will slow the rate at which seated customers become unhappy.
• Upgraded stereo systems increase the unhappiness rate reduction.
• Stereo systems are always active once chosen.
Customer Types:
Customer Colors:
• Seating customers in an uncolored seat will change it to their color.
• Seating customers in a colored seat earns you points. It will also increase the multiplier (x1, x2, x3, etc.) of points earned for future matching seatings.
• Seating a customer in a different colored seat than the previous customer will reset the scoring multiplier to zero.
Young Lady:
• Standard, average customer; tips well and is moderately patient.
• When waiting in line, seat after College Students and Business Women.
• When seated, serve after Business Women and Hot Shots.
Kindly Senior:
• More patient waiting in line and at the table, but doesn’t tip so well.
• Take the longest to place an order and eat their meals.
• Seat them last when waiting in line.
• Serve them last at the table.
Business Woman:
• Tips very well, but is not as patient as others.
• When waiting in line, seat after College Students.
• When seated, serve them after Hot Shots.
College Student:
• Average tippers; very impatient in line, but they linger at the table.
• When waiting in line, seat them first.
• When seated, serve them after Hot Shots and Business Women, and Young Ladies.
Mr. Hot Shot:
• Tips well; is patient in line, but has no patience while waiting at the table.
• When waiting in line, seat them after College Students, Business Women, and Young Ladies.
• When seated, serve them first.
The Restaurant Critic:
• Restaurant Critics are VIP customers; seat and serve them as fast as possible when they appear.
• If a critic leaves very happy, you will earn an extra star.
• If a critic leaves unhappy, it will cost you lots of points.
• Try to seat critics in an uncolored seat, so a seat’s color multiplier is not erased.
Best Restaurateur Practices
• Chaining your actions is key, particularly chaining multiple tables. Chaining as many tables as you can is the key to high scores.
• Seat customers to matching colored seats for color bonuses. Save the highest seating bonuses for as long as possible.
• In later stages (i.e. Restaurants 3, 4, and 5), be sure not to lose customers. It costs a tremendous number of points. This is particularly true of restaurant critics. If a customer is very close to leaving, seat them immediately and give them a drink.
• Generally try to seat customers at the smallest tables possible. This leaves bigger tables open for bigger parties.
• Emphasize the seating and serving order of different customers. Often knowing who to seat first will save you from losing several customers.
• Business women are very impatient. You have to seat them and serve them faster than other customers if you want to keep them happy.
• The last level in each restaurant is particularly long. You need to be very careful not to lose customers here. The earlier you can get into a chaining rhythm (seating many customers at once and serving them in long chains), the better you will do in the level.
• Restaurant 3, Level 4: The seating arrangement of the restaurant will determine who you can seat. Time the seating so that the most patient groups remain waiting in line. If there’s an impatient group in line, be sure to continually return to the podium to keep them from leaving.
• Restaurant 3, Level 5: The key to this level is following the snack station advice above.
• Restaurant 4, Level 4: Use the bar as an open table of many sizes. Seat impatient customers there as a way to get them out of line.
• Restaurant 5, Level 1: Without a drink or a podium, you need to rely on color bonuses and quick service to impatient customers to keep customers happy.
• Restaurant 5, Level 9: Losing color bonuses means that you have to be really attentive to the mood of customers in line. Use the podium to get them really happy before seating them and be careful to seat the most impatient line customers (business women and college kids) first and the most patient (old men, hot shots) last.

Hi, Im new to Diner Dash and i have been reading your posts for help. Ive just finished my 3rd rest. and 3 things have helped. 1. always have your hands full (whether that be 2 meals, 2 orders, an order and dishes etc) 2. Use as little tables as possible - and always keep your waiting patrons happy and 3. Utilise the flags on the tables, try different ways of seating people, you gain more money by seating the same colours on the same seats. This is a really great game that utilises all your hand/eye co-ordination, take your time and dont freak out if you get too many people (just like a real rest. really)

Hi. I have played this game to completion several times and am now going for expert on all levels. Has anyone else noticed that it is physically impossible to get expert scores on 2-5 and 2-6? I used every seating bonus, gave drinks to everyone, used the podium both after taking orders and while they were eating and chained to beat the band and STILL could not make the expert score. It doesn't make sense that the expert score for level 2-6 is 12,000 but for 2-7 it is 11,000. Getting frustrated! Anyone else noticed this?

YES, I noticed the same thing. I got expert scores ALL the way throught except for those two levels. Made no sense to me either. At least I know it's not just me now!! :p

I have at this very moment...FINISHED THE GAME!!!! with a whopping score of (drum roll please) - 529,715 - not as much as some...but good for me! Wow, I can't freakin' believe it. With the help of Erinreid and Stephanology's tips/hints (thank you so much y'all!) - I was able to complete the game. What a rush! Now, what's next - I'm not going to know what to do with myself? Does Diner Dash 2 exist? :)

I'm still working on the 10th level of the second restaurant of DD. All your tips have really helped, thanks!

I wanted to recommend a couple of other games that are similar to DD. One is Roller Rush. It's set in the 50's and you wait on people in their cars at a burger joint. Really cool. The other one is Betty's Beer Bar. Do a search on line for both of these and you should have no problem finding them.

OK - I got through and finished the game.

A word of advice - if you get stumped like I did, go to the ENDLESS SHIFT part of the game, and PRACTICE keeping customers happy WITHOUT A PODIUM!! That got me past the starting level of the Rest. without the podium easily!

OK - hints on the Indian Rest. When you get to Level 5-8, it goes FAST!!! They will order IMMEDIATELY upon seating. And when you deliver the food - they will finish IMMEDIATELY. So seat 4 tables, & go right back & get the orders. THEN GO TO THE PODIUM!! If the food comes - wait until you have "pleased" the podium folk. Then take the food & go right back around and take the money, then clean the tables.

Then go back to the podium again, and please the podium while seating 4 more. Etc. Follow that until you are done.

CAUTION - the Business ladies are NOT the only ones that will get mad quickly!! Watch how many hearts appear over their heads in line, and pay CLOSE ATTENTION to the Students / College boys. They will sneak in some fast to anger ones on you. And if they leave - you loose ALOT of points!

For the VERY LAST LEVEL - you will continue to get people in line. Seems like it goes on FOREVER. You will easily get the 45,000 points needed - with ALOT of people left in line. DO NOT GET COMPLACENT!!! If anyone gets up from the table mad - you loose 2,000 points!! Only a few of those and you will not finish the game. So when you get to Level 5-10, be prepared to be there for a good 20 mins / half hour.

Anyway - hope that helps some of you out there. Happy gaming!

Wow!!! I finished the game! My last shift I got 63,000! Thank you sooooooo much erinreid, stephanology, and Ashen. If it wasn't for you, I wouldnt have gotten past the third resturant. Everything you need to know is in there blogs. Oh, and i beat it with the free trial!!! GO me! Thank you all again.PS...the most important thing i found was being carful seating people. However, If I ever beat this game I plan to have my head examined on why I am spending my down time becoming so stressed and overly obsessed with a game that I actually paid money for!!! From what I'm reading, everyone seems to be stuck at certain levels due to not knowing how to "CHAIN". Here's a few hints

Food Chain Bonus Values

* Food Chain x1: 30
* Food Chain x2: 60
* Food Chain x3: 90
* Food Chain x4: 120
* Food Chain x5: 150
* Food Chain x6: 180

* Order Chain x1: 20
* Order Chain x2: 40
* Order Chain x3: 60
* Order Chain x4: 80
* Order Chain x5: 100
* Order Chain x6: 120
* Order Chain x7: 140

Chaining is taking all orders at the same time without interuption, delivering food without interuption, giving the check without interuption, and clearing plates without interuption. The more you can do at one time, the better the bonus.

As you progress in the game you will have several different types of customers that have different levels of patience, so time your seating accordingly to maximize the chain!

* Businesswomen: they tip very well, but have a short temper to wait in line or at the table.
* Mr. Hot Shot: very patient in line, very impatient at the table, tips well.
* College kids: very impatient in line, like to linger at the table, give reasonable tips.
* Young girls: friendly customers, they give good tips and are moderately patient.
* Seniors: elderly men who are a lot more patient in line and at the table, take a long time to eat and don't tip so well.
* The restaurant critics: VIP customers, they can come alone or in groups. They give you a star if they leave pleased, but will cost you points if they don't get a good impression. A star is an "extra life", which you use when you fail to reach the level goal. This in only certain levels and usually comes at the worst time. Make sure they get drinks/snacks as they will give you an extra star when pleased.

Snack/drinks are great if you have the most impatient people sitting with very few hearts. If you have to break a chain to serve them snacks and keep their heart level up, DO IT! IN the later levels losing customers costs you 1000-2000.

Seat in that order. When using the podium, you can hold the seniors and young girls in line. Just remember to go back to the podium after dropping off the checks. For a great chain bonus, clean all tables at one time after making sure everyone in line is happy.

Customer cannot leave:
If customers are at 1 heart level and your podium heart will not hold them long enough, then move the pointer over the customer and "hold" them until your podium heart is full. The customer will not be able to leave.

Levels 1, 2, and 3 you shouldn't seat more than 4 tables at a time. This will help you learn how to chain, which gives you the bonus you need to pass the level. As you go farther in the game, you can do 6 tables, then 8.

Level 5-10 (Goal: 45,000 Expert Goal: 55,000)
Two tables for 6, four tables for 4, four tables for 2, 8-seat bar. Customers come in red, blue, yellow, purple and green; they are Mr. Hot Shot, girls, college kids, businesswomen and seniors. The color bonuses are back. This will be a long shift and people will line up off the screen. Keep seniors and Mr. Hot Shots waiting in line and serve the impatient ones first.

That's where I am right now, tough to chain and not have customers leave. Hope all of this helps! Good Luck!

I beat the game and am now going back to get EXPERT scores on all the levels. (Yes, I'm addicted.) Silly as it is, the only one I can't seem to get expert on is level 9 on restaurant ONE! There is no podium, only drinks....any help someone? I can't seem to get past 11,000.

Also, for those of you still playing, the tips on these pages are great, couldn't have got thru without them, but the one piece of advice that got me to the end was...BE PATIENT. Don't seat all the tables, wait at the podium for as long as you have to so you can chain. Good luck!!

I'm on the 5th resturant, 3rd level. Here are some tips I have found very helpful.

Do not fill up all of your tables. Leave 1-2 empty.
At the start, wait until you have enough people in line to seat all at the same time. This is a huge help. While you are waiting for the line to fill up, take note of seat/people colors so you can get an idea of where to put them. Seat older people first then the others. Stay standing at the podium until you can seat them. This makes them all full of happiness before they sit down. Take all orders at the same time, make tables happy w/ drinks or snacks, deliver orders. Then go stand at the podium and make the line people happy. Then clear tables and seat people and start again. It gets tricky but if you do this, you will pass the levels. The 5th resturant gets a little strange!!!!

Ok, iv'e been reading through some stuff and here are some thigs I found out. Hope it helps:D

*Chaining is EVERYTHING!!!!

*Abuse the podium. Stand at it increasing everyone's love until closing time, then seat the whole restaurant in this order:
-Business women
-Young ladies
-Seniors
This only works on res. 1-3.

* Increase everyone's love at the podium until you have four-six groups of two similar types (Business women + Young ladies, Seniors + College kids)
After seating them, increase everyone's love until their ready to order DO NOT STOP TALKING AT THE PODIUM UNTIL YOUR DONE. You need to be at the podium as much as possible.

Ex:
-Seat customers
-Talk at podium
-Get Orders
-Talk at podium
and so on....

That's all I got. Stuck on Restaurant 4 Level....Something:mad: Can anyone help?

Hi all,

I just beat the entire game - it is possible. Some of the rounds took me a few days but its done now.

Tips:
You must chain on some levels but on others don't worry about chaining just about not losing people
Try to pass out extra snacks as much as possible
On the really hard levels just move - don't spend time thinking

Playing Diner Dash at night before bed has the same effect as eating too late...weird dreams, and lack of good solid sleep. For the life of me I could not shake these characters out of my head, and it was as if I were Flo and racing around trying to pacify these life-size customers, mean business women and all. :eek:

But the good news is that I was finally able to "break the code" and beat level 10 on Restaurant 4. Whoever suggested letting the line fill up before seating anyone (all the while rocking the podium), then seating the people in like groups was spot on! I apologize for not giving credit where credit is due, but you know who you are, and I applaud you. (My husband was actually reading the posts while I struggled with the game, but didn't take note of who recommended the strategy.):D

So far Restaurant 5 has been fun, albeit challenging. (Is there a busboy anywhere in Flo's future?):rolleyes:

OK, I did just beat the game, "Diner Dash"! The whole process took about four hours. Here's the crucial things that I learned from beating the game:

* Chaining is EVERYTHING. Everything relies on you getting the longest chains possible. Chain the orders, chain the food serving, chain the checks, and chain the dirty dishes. By the last few levels of the fifth restaurant, you should be seating and serving *twelve* tables at a time, and doing everything to all twelve tables at once. I know that's hard to imagine, but it's how to win; the last level has a requirement of $45,000, and I made over $60,000. Don't ever break a chain, and make every chain the maxiumum that your restaurant can hold.

* Ignore snacks. Forget snacks. Don't serve a snack, ever. Trust me.

* Ignore drinks. Forget drinks. Don't serve a drink, ever. Yes, trust me.

* Don't seat anyone until you're ready to seat the maximum number of tables you can hold. Stand at the podium and keep increasing everyone's love.

* While everyone is eating, stand at the podium to increase the love of the people in line. Don't leave the podium to give the checks until *everyone* is done eating and has stopped asking for checks. If they're full of love when they sit down (which they will be, because you've stood at the podium) they'll easily withstand you ignoring the snack requests and ignoring the people who are done early.

* While you only see eight parties in line, there are additional parties that come in out of sight. These parties don't have their love decrease by standing in line. That's why, when seating the initial set of 12 tables on the final level, you should wait until you hear the "Welcome!" sound effect 12 times and know there are that many people out there. Trust me.

For those of you trying to beat the last level of rest. two...
you have to let the line build up and seat everyone basically at once. i did that and then took two orders at a time and delivered two plates at a time and then talked at the podium. the do the ticket and clean up two at a time all at once. you gets lots of bonus. also, i had to seat people in the same color chair when i could to get more points! it took like 50 tries it seems!

level 10 of rest. 2 is so hard! let the line of people build up and then when there is enough to fill the tables pretty well then seat them all. then take all their orders the same time. you know pick up two and then two more and so on. then give them their food the same way and go to the podium. when they are done eating clean up two by two. then seat a new batch of people and follow the steps i just gave again. and if you can squeeze in time to seat them in the same color chairs it will help!!;)

I would like to thank erinreid for this strategy.. it really works! i could finally finish the game. well, i modified the strategy a little bit. I served costumers by priority: restaurant critic, business women, college students, Mr hot shots, young ladies and last, senior citizens. I only seated maximum 4-5 tables on each time. and the rest is following erinreid's strategy. by doing this strategy, you could serve your customers by chaining and stand on podium while they are eating and not even losing any customers. hope this help.

Just try to link your actions. I owe all the four games in the serie.
Put people together, try to wait a bit and take more orders in the same time, try to do the same with the checks from customers and the table cleaning.

ok finaly after so many attempts i got expert my score was 12,570
this is how i did it:-

go to the podium as soon as u start
try and get all businesswomen out the way first only use 3 tables dont need table for 2
as normal colour match ppl to the tables
stay at podium till first 3 tables are ready to order collect order deliver food GO BK TO PODIUM
when they are finished collect all checks then clean away tables then bk to podium sit the next 3 tables and do same process
on last round just use tabble for 6 for last 3 groups and u shoud get expert when u sit last ppl down

Dont forget podium is your friend use it alot

i typed this as soon as i finished the level lol so shoud work

I have 2 stars but I cannot figure out if the dead flower have to go on only the tables i put the tweenwolves and glampires are going to sit or if the flowers have to be put on all tables before anyone sits..
