I got a problem. I got a Toshiba A100 laptop which has a MAT****A UJDA750 DVD/CDRW drive. Had this laptop since March 2004 and been happily burning CDs/DVDs using the laptop with no problems.

Then during the summer my laptop suffered a nasty bump and had to get sent off for repairs. The harddrive was replaced. When it came back, the CD-drive was malfunctioning. Then eventually the CD-drive stopped being detected on bootup! So, back to repairs the laptop went. The CD-drive got remounted. Once I got it back The CD-drive had problems again. Then eventually it didn't get detected. Back to repairs. CD-drive replaced! Now, CD-drive is fine. I can install and run things. But when I burn a CD using Nero I get this:

"Could not follow track error"

I have made so many coasters! Does anyone know what I can do to find out what is wrong with the CD-drve?

ok being a laptop repair engineer, what u need to do is eliminate any software problems, try alternate burning software, try diferent media, try diferent speeds, reinstall the whole system as a last resort, if it still dont work it needs replacing, these laptop drives are quite delicate also try giving it a clean,
