Yeah. I just installed it and everything. The computer bios and device manger list it as "PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-108". I had an old Samsung DVD-ROM in there, replaced it with this burner. How it is listing three drives, the PIONEER, my CD-ROM writer, and somehow "Generic DVD-ROM SCSI CdRom Device"? I have tried serveral times to remove "Generic DVD-ROM SCSI CdRom Device" from the list. It keeps coming back. I insert DVD movies and the drive will not play them, it either says dirty disk, something about region, or it can't read the DVD. It seem's to work except for the lack of DVD support. Anything I should try? Driver download? Software? Any help?

Im wondering if any of the software you installed had a virtual drive install with it. Check into that.

I use Daeman Tools for virtual CDrom use.

Okay, I deleted that and I got it to play a movie, but it most of the time cancels out. In DVD shrink I get an I/O error trying to load the movie. What is wrong with this thing? In the My Computer it is showing the DVD burner as D: and F: What gives? There is two for it?

What does the cable select jumper mean? I don't understand this, I got it to play the movie once, there has to be either my old dvd-rom coming through or some kind of virtual drive. I have the jumper set to master, as that is what my old dvd-rom was, I didn't uninstall it before I put the new drive in, I just unplug it and hooked this one up. Anyone know what is going on with this thing? Does it need drivers?

WTF, I just got it to work in DVDshrink just a second ago, went to try it again and it gives me the frickin I/o Device error again... err I just had it working. Seems to be off and on

I don't know. Think it could be the software causing these problems?

Yeah. I found the problem, it had to be conflicting with my secondary CD-RW writer. I unplugged it and everything seem's to be working now. Hmm... I think next I'll switch spots, have the cd-rw as master and the other way around or if that don't work Ill just use the dvd burner.

Be sure the Pioneer is set to master and the cdrw to slave.

That was the original setup, it wasn't working with the cd-rw connected.
