Some Probs with my ps2

I´ve got some very bad probs.
1. I couldn´t play the backup or the original of Jak3 on my PS2.Is it my laser?
2: My Memory Card isn´t blank but the ps2 said there are no data on the card.

What modchip do you have?
who installed the chip?

and is it only since modding you've found original discs won't read?
