I just installed a Matrix Infinity chip on a V4 PS2 , i checked and rechecked all cables , PS2 boots fine , reads originals but not backups , if i turn on PS2 without controller it takes 15 seconds to boot.

I read this : http://fileforums.com/showthread.php?t=65568

I burned the latest firmware to a CDRW , inserted the disc and then turned it off , i press Eject until blue light turns on but it ejects disc and goes to the PS2 menu , is it supose to do that or not?

what the heck am i doing wrong?.

Dude chill..... it seems like you waited less than 1/2 hour for a response.... You need to wait longer. Wait until lufcfan or warlock or someone else to come along. And jumping out the window is messy..... down the road and not across the street is better.... Just Kidding! ;) Just wait awhile for a response

put the controller in!

thats when you turn it on it will take 15 sec w/o controller, with the firmware update you can go in to the chip options and change that

Correct, without the controller in port one the infinity will wait up to 15 seconds before the unit will turn on. It does this because its waiting for possable commands from the controller on how to boot, because as you know you can boot the PS2 into different modes by holding certain buttons.

Also to boot the flash upgrade if your MI is a homebrew you hold RESET until you see the blue light on the eject button, not holf the eject button its self :D

Also if its haveing a hard time even after you do it the right way this could be because the crappy laser in your V4 simply cant read it. You may need to adjust your laser. This is of course assuming your install is correct.

EDIT: AALLSSOO!!! why in the hell are you trying to get it to boot a CDRW! V5 and latter console will boot CDRW but struggle at that in most cases. Using CDRW's in a V4 is just a waist. Use a good quality CD-R.

Well......at the risk of bein an old woman this rule goes for any version ps2. No CD-RW or DVD-RW/+RW as it will nail ur laser. I know some will play them.......but for HOW LONG!!!
