I recently did an XP enema and completley re installed windows deleting the old windows installation. I keep my games on a diferent drive because most games pick up fine after doing this and if not I can just do a reinstall from the cd.. Unfortumatley my Sims 2 DVD is damaged (my 2 year old has a facination with the prety coloured disks... ) and I am can't reinstall... I have asked the store for a replacement but they refused...
I used to get away with using one of those images to trick my machine into thinking the disk was in the drive but now (after the windows enema) when I try to start the game it says "Some needed files were corrupted during installation. Please reinstall The Sims 2." but I can't reinstall.....
Am I stuffed or is there a way around this...

My Wife is about to disembowel me for breaking the only game she enjoys, so any help may just save my life... Thanks

Ask the publisher of the game (EA Games) for a replacement cd!
Especially board rules #3 you should read...
Noone here on this board will help you, with stuff you can get by your original DVD.
