:confused: When I go buy the game, will the activation cost anything? Seems as if the 50 plus U.S. bucks ought to be enough!

You mean Half-Life2? And no, it won't cost anything.

you have to create a steam account, register with your serial and download some unlocking files, then you are registered and can play offline, at least hl2
ok so you just need a serial?so this steam thing will break if a keygen is out right?
about the unlocking files.if you find them and copy them to another pc isn't it gonna work?

Don't talk about KeyGens!!!
If you want to play that game, you have to create a Steam-Account.
If you don't want create a Steam-Account, don't buy the game.
No discussion about "How to play HL2 without Steam" !!!
:) you didn't understand.when you create the account 6MB aprox are downloaded to your pc right?what if you find these 6 MB and write them in another pc?
I dont mean to push you GLH :rolleyes: , but I think Luci is meant to say that if a keygen will be created to generate Steam activation codes, that system will collapse in seconds. I wonder what chaos will be when it happens... Just like the Battle.net, thousands banned even if they had a legal copy of the game... :cool:
I think the unlocking files are code and hardware dependant, so it wont work on PSs other than you downloaded them to.
no man you don't push him.GLH is not one of the angry modz(Luciel:rolleyes: )
oh ok.

:eek: I learned the hard way that there's no way around getting the game to work without first logging on. It's a drawn out process and it takes a long time to decript the game files, a lot longer than the LONG game install.
Me an angry mod? WHAT THE FECK U TALKING ABOUT DAMMIT!!! :p
@Luciel
"It wasn't me Michael! It was the other two!" (Rick from the Young One's") :p :D
Sure. Talking about angry mods. Take a look at the support forum... :cool:
