Xbox drive replacement?

Hey everybody,

My friend's xbox drive kicked the bucket (it still plays a chunk of games but it's semi faulty on others) I'm looking for a replacement so if somebody has on or can steer me in the right direction please let me know. Thanks Guys.

ebay is your best bet. Thompson drives are the ones that fail. The only thing you should watch out for are the "hacked samsungs". Usually they are the drive, but not already hacked.

The thing is his xbox isn't modded at all. Is this gonna be a problem like it won't read it or something like that?

nah, you don't need to mod to switch dvd drives.
