I know everyone asks this all the time, but....

I am going to spend $158 on 10 Aladdin Advance XT chips.

Now... We have had NO LUCK getting them into the 1.6 boxes...so I have a couple of questions.

If the chip IS hooked up correctly, then it must be the bios. How do we change it without it booting the chip. Can not load evox unless chips works Right???

Second....Should I just buy 5 of them and get 2-3 really GOOD chips...???

What are your thoughts..I am ordering today...

well, lpc points on a 1.6 have been "re-arranged". So you have to rebuild them, or connect additional points to the LPC before solding the chip to it. I found this tutorial:

I have seen the same 1 picture crappy tutorial over and over, that guide is far better. The chi pdoesn't come with 1.6 bios as far as I can see. After you install, you probably have to flash it as well.
