where did you mount it on? the virtual drive?

Hiei
19-11-2004, 16:27
yes on the virtual drive

taken from another post

"Well call me a dancing fool (i promise never to say that again) i found a crack, go to gamecopyworld, then go to game list then vampire, then since gamecopyworld loves to hide there cracks in the profile of other games scroll partly down the screen to the Related Games: section and click on bloodlines. There are 2 cracks in there, with a fairly slow download rate, i dont know how well they work but apparently they were released today, and im downloading them now. Expect a post shortly telling you if they work or not."

CloneCD has been blacklisted by most protections on most new games, either uninstall and dont use it or edit your registry so games cannot find your CloneCD settings. Use Daemon Tools for mounting images it is the best and only blacklisted by a couple of games I know of unlike the amount that have blacklisted clonecd and always use the latest version of Daemon Tools.

I wonder if there is just going to be a cd crack. I have scanned my registery and found nothing, what ever happened to the good ole fashion no cd crack.
Thanks for the info guys,

I don't quite understand how it works, I download the fixed image in GCW and mount it with Daemon. but it just said run time error when i run it

i bought the original game yesterday and tried if there is really a problem.
don't know what you want... i made images of all discs with alcohol's safedisc 2/3 profile, mounted one after another with alcohol to install the game and it starts without any problem from that virtual drive.

I've tried the image in the archive svtmb.rar on GCW.

First attempt (daemon 347): Failed :(
Second attempt (Alcohol 1.9.2_1705): Failed :(
Third attempt (uninstalled Alcohol, used daemon 3.47): Failed :(

Now I also removed daemon tools and recognised, that I still had &(§"$/( CloneCD installed. Removed this too. Rebooted. Re-installed daemon and changed the IDs of the miniport driver and device. Mounted image. And it worked!!! :D:D:D

So I am not sure, if it was the (re-)installation, the new ids or the removal of CloneCD. But finally I can play w/o. CD until a No-CD arrives.

If you install daemon tools 3.47 on fresh system (i.e. after uninstalling and rebooting), the installer presents you a dialog with those values during installation. The default values are something like d347prt and d347sys. Just change those strings to anything you like.

I change it to driver1 and minport (the name) but it still said C++ runtime error when I run the game :(

i think bierhuettls right. i kept getting the emulation detected error message (even with original game disks), then i uninstalled clonecd and the game works fine.

then i tried the 2 files from gamecopyworld, they both worked for me. tried reinstalling clonecd and now nothing works again (either the originals, or using either of the little images)

im mounting those files using daemon tools, so it seems vampire has no problem with that program. i dont have alcohol at all, so cant vouch for that

Ok i'm new to this site, so i don't exactly know what i'm doing. I was able to mount the first CD onto Daemon but when it asks for the second disc to be insterted i'm not able to mount the second discs image, and i'm fairly sure i'll have the same problem with the third disc. Can anyone give me a detailed explanation as to how you were able to get this game to run?

i can do what i want. I've deinstall all the emu progs, inc. daemontools and reboot. So i reinstalled daemontools but the same again. Please close alle emu bla bla. I already checked the 2 files from gcw. But the same. So how can the 2 files ( iso's ) from gcw work, wen the applications says, that i must shut down the emu progs !?¿?
A simple no-cd crk would help

I was able to get it to work! Heres what i did...hopefully it's easy to follow

Download Torrent > Install Daemon Tools > Enable Safedisc option > WinRAR Disc 1, 2 and 3 > Open My computer > Left Click Drive that has "Mount" option ( Mine was I: ) > Mount Image > Open > Mount CD 1 .cue > Mount CD2 .cue > Mount CD3 .cue > Game Install Complete > Play!

I didn't even have to use the files from GCW, once the game was down loading i just clicked play and it worked! Hopefully this'll help others out also. :D

I've never had cloneCD installed < so that eliminates it as a possible conflict

I've uninstalled alcohol and only had deamon tools 3.47 running... installed and mounted cd1 with deamon tools. Game starts up, the startup images appears and goes off... then the monitor flicks (changes resolution) and a 'grey' or 'brown' screen appears for around 5seconds... then the monitor goes back to the desktop without any error message.

I've also tried with the latest version of alcohol, same thing happens. I've tried both the available image files from gamecopyworld, both do the same thing.

I've uninstalled, reinstalled all programs, tried all combinations suggested. Changing driver names etc etc... nothing works.

Hopefully a simple old fashioned no-cd crack appears soon :D

I was having the same problems as everyone else until I did this:

- I was running and older version of Daemon Tools after I installed the game. Never used CloneCD or Alcohol 120%.

- Game would tell me to insert CD1 if I tried to run it.

- Uninstalled Daemon & installed the newer 3.47 version.

- After rebooting, I mounted CD1 & now the game works. I would suggest uninstalling your CD Drive emulators & reinstalling them.

I was browsing this thread and noticed that everyone is talking around each other so I will try to make this simple:

The only solution given in this thread so far is to remove/uninstall one or more of the following programs: Clone CD, Daemon and Alcohol 120%, reboot, then run the game.

This "fix" will work for some, for others it will not. Meaning the game does not start up, even if they remove all of the mentioned programs.

From these posts it would also seem that it doesn't matter if you use the two files (so far) from GCW or not. It may or may not work. For some it works, for others it doesn't.

I think we are slowly approaching a time where the copy protection gurus are beating the crackers. No-cd cracks used to come out within a day or two of releases, sometimes before.

These days there are games which are uncrackable (dtm toca 2, fade etc) and some which require really dirty methods to get working. Now with HL2 and steam activation also.

Looks like their wining the battle!

no. the games you talk about are starforce protected. this one is safedisc, it recognizes clonecd, and if you got that one installed, it won't boot up. if you only use alcohol, create images with sd2/3 profile and mount the images in the internal virtual drive, it works perfectly. but okay, it seems no one listens to me here *pops original disc in and plays* :-)

How do you mount images in the internal virtual drive? What is an internal virtual drive?

bierhuettl,

I have done this many times with alcohol and Deamon tools (latest versions). It works for some but does not work for others. I've NEVER had clonecd installed, and you would know this if you've read my previous post.

Here's a tip to all of you:
Never use Alcohol to mount/install games. Just to burn certain images.
The virtual clone drive does not fully support every type of image. As I've had nothing but trouble with it. So for your mounting needs, for the love of god, use Daemon tools.

Fade is crackable! ;)

@Van Tokkern
G'day Mate, I will agree with what you say about Alcohol's virtual drives! I never even install them or Uninstall them as soon as ive installed Alcohol. They are a pain! But I never use Dameon Tools either! I either use a NoCD (if available) or just use the original discs. ;)

Ok got it working, didn't know what I did, just messed around using one of the GCW files (I think the iso one). Never had anything else installed than alcohol 120 and it's what i used now to "mount on the virtual drive". And the game runs no prob.

Is the intro decapitation in the US version, or just the sound like mine (UK ver.)?

Raiten
21-11-2004, 11:11
I was able to get mine to work without the use of a CD, just use Daemon to mount the images one by one when the installation process asks for them. Once your done with that, you shouldn't even need the "crack" from GCW or a CD to run off. Also remember to get rid of CloneCD/DVD or whichever you have, both if you have both, and to have the latest version of Daemon Tools.

this message says what you have to do... copy the bink32.dll file from windows dir to game directory in the same place where the exe also is... and it will work

my bloodlines loads the image (if u have clone cd un-install it, then it will work with the image and d-tools) and then it loads the game. i get past all the movies and then my video turns off when i get to the game menu. i can hear the menu music and everything but my video is gone. whats the problem????

Anubis336
22-11-2004, 04:06
Now this problem is way different from what you guys have (the game starts just fine with the nocd from gcw in my case).

My problem is related more to a glitch so to say namely: when trying to leave the society of leopold with the boat the game starts loading the new area and when it's finished it crashes (no error msg , no flickering graphics no nothing, initialy i thought it was because i did something wrong but after i replayed the same are over and over again i start to think that somewhere elese there may be a problem). did any of you have this problem too and if yes how did you overcome it?

TBS

That ones easy mate:
We are still looking into this issue at the current time, but the following should get you past the issue.

This fix involves using some console commands. Be careful to enter the console commands exactly as they appear, capitalization is important.

To enable the console for the game:
1) Right-click on the shortcut you use the launch the game
2) Select properties
3) Make sure you are on the shortcut tab
4) At the end of the target line add -console, add this outside of the quotes
5) The finished line should look like this if you have the game installed to the default directory
"C:\Program Files\Activision\Vampire - Bloodlines\vampire.exe" -console
6) Hit ok, make sure you launch the game using this shortcut

Once you have enabled the console load the saved game from this level and do the following
1) Get to the boat and approach it, do not get into the boat, but get as close as you can
2) Open the console using the tilde "~" key
3) Type the following commands in:

If you saved Johansen:
SaveJohansen()

Then to level transition if you're anybody but a Nosferatu:
changelevel2 la_hub_1 taxi_landmark

And if you're a Nosferatu, instead use:
changelevel2 la_hub_1 sewer_map_landmark

4) If you get to the next level and you do not have any items in your inventory reload your previous save (make sure you have a discreet save and are not just using the autosave) and try it again, but stand closer to the boat.

Hope that helps
and if it does, click on the scales at the top of this post and give me some points ;)

Mused

now, if only someone could help me.... :)

Hi, this might be a little off topic, but I am having a problem with flickering gameplay. The Intro is choppy, and when I am playing the game it chops allot. Also Takes forever to load! I noticed when I am playing the Hard Drive light on my Case is going NuTs! I have a P4 2.4gig, 160G HD 7200 rpm, 9200 Radeon 128 MB Vid Card, Audigy 2 Sound Card etc. I should have no problems playing this game but it flickers and I can hear my hard drive going nuts. Any help on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

The minimum specs say you need at least a 1.45gb windows swap file, it may be worth checking that, and also make sure you have the most up-to date drivers for your graphics card and bios and sound card etc.

the error has nothing to do with any virtual drive what so ever all you need to do is go into the regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Python\Pythoncore\2.1\ Pythonpath\WIN32 and export the file then delete the win32 folder in rededit and the game will work thats it

The last colum lists what virtual memory you are using as a swap file.

You can change the setting there
