View Full Version : Newbie to burning DVD's
Ok guys, I need a little help here. I know that this question has been asked many times before, so if you dont mind please answer it the best you can
(simple)
What program will copy Retail DVD's to a DVD-+R or DVD/RW?
I want to back-up a few movies that I purchased.
How is DVD-CLONER 2.0? will this do what I need?
If not please let me know what I need to do to get this done. I dont know anything about computers so please keep it simple.
Thanks in advance.

Sory for being stupid but, how do I use the programs together. I dont mind paying for a good program, but I want something that will do all the different DVDs that I have. Also another question, a friend of mine had made a dvd of the summer camp that my kids went to, I tried to play it on my DVD player connected to the TV and it wouldnt play. Now in another dvd player it worked fine. I could also view it on my pc. Why does this happen? I want to make a copy of it also but it will not play in my dvd player. Did I do something rong?
Let me know what you think.
Thanks, PuJo
Another question. Using anydvd w/dvdclone2 together, will this do a 1:1 reproduction? what is the best media brand to use? dvd + - R or DVD/RW??

What version of ANYDVD do I use, what is the newest?
i use dvd-r.well most do.clonedvd2 dos 1:1 and iso image on hdd.for 1:1 you surely need anydvd but i use it always.it runs in the backround you just start it.go to the link.it's the latest.
about the media brand i can't tell you cause here we have different brands
about the dvd it has fotos or it's a video?maybe your dvd doesn't support picture view or it might be an avi
In what form does CloneDvD2 burn in?
Is it mpeg4, mpeg2, or what?
Can I change this with the program, I havnt purchased it as of yet, I will if I can get more information on this. Please let me know.
Thanks in advance,
PuJo

DVD format.that's mpeg-4.you can't change that.clonedvd can shrink the dvd to fit on a 4.7 dvd if you don't want to buy bigger size.you can deseect subtitles menus etc.
go here and see how it workes

So in other words, its not the file format that you use, its type of media. Is that correct? Meaning DVD- or DVD+. The file format meaning MPEG2 or 4.
So tell me why my DVD player on the tv wont play a recorded movie the kids made at summer camp. and a friends will? is it the media or the file format?
And thanks for helping me understand these things, cause I didnt know nothing. Is there a hole lot more to copying DVD's?
God Bless

Not all dvd players support recorded media and some only support one type, +r or -r. You can look up your dvd player here (http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers)
Ok guys, I backed up my first DVD. Scooby Doo Movie, it works perfect my DVD player supports + AND - dvd R'S NOT dvd/rw'S NO PROB. BUT my back-up was not correct the video was perfect but the audio was not there, it was the editors interview(if you know what I mean) all I could here was the editors voice not the movie. I want back and did it again on a RW and I selected all the languages and it worked fine, Did it do it correctly or do I need to select save mune's and all the languages. All I want is the movie in the correct language. for this only what would I have to select?
And thanks again for everyones help

Assuming you used clonedvd2 you can simply select the languages and subtitles in the audio streaming window. It is the forelast window in the creation process of clonedvd2.
