newbie - Getaway2 probs

hi, new to this forum, but not to making backups,,,
Having probs with backing up The Getaway black monday,, game plays ok but movies will not play correct,, sound out of sinc with movie with long delays,,and sometimes locking up,, have backed up original game 3 times on 2 different media and all have same problem,,

using Ps2 v7 with Duo modchip
media 4x Ritek Orange label , 4x Datawrite yellows ,
burner - LG4040B
software- B recorder Gold ( came with burner )

tried at 4x and 2x ,, no problems with other backups, GTA san andreas, Fifa 2005, etc

anyone any ideas,,, thanx

Orange labeled Riteks, are you talking about the ones with scenery printed on them? I have read that those are poorly made and often give off bad burns and spots on the bottom of your discs. I had some of the 2x versions and I did get spots.

no i mean 4x RITEK GO4 ORANGE , plain orange label,, had no probs with them in past,, been using them for about a year,,,

any clues to my prob with sync on movies in game...

I've heard about this problem. Does your original (i mean the one you went out and brought) have the same problem?

no ,original runs fine, no probs at all,,backup game plays ok until it cuts to a movie then sound is out of sync by 10 secs and sometimes the game locks up half way through the movie ,, it seems the ps2 is having trouble loading the sound for the movie,,

could it be the files are burned in the wrong order to the original causing the ps2 to hunt for them,, this was a problem when i backed up dreamcast games a few years ago,,, im guessing though,,,

I seriously doubt that the files are burned in the wrong order. I think that maybe its just that your ps2 is having a tad bit harder time reading off burnt dvds than they do with pressed dvds.

after much scratching of head,,, i checked the discs and noticed that there are little dots on them where the burn seems to have missed,, could this be the problem,,,my other discs look alright from the same batch,, could my burner be burning out,,,

Remember what I said earlier? Those are the dots I was talking about. Its a media issue. I would recommend getting other riteks or TY discs.

My original of Getaway 2 has dodgey movie sound ( about 5 second delays), so it may not be a prob with your burning, just bad video quality or somthin on the originals. It was exactly the same when I backed it up.

mine has the same prob 2 must just be the game :)
