View Full Version : Must you use a blank DVD to make a backup?

I have a dvd burner but hp screwed us over on the hardrive. Can you only make a backup of a game using a blank dvd? Thanks.

you can, but only for ps1 games. Not ps2 games as they are too big. Maybe you should read the stickies and do some research :)

a dvd has more space on it than a cd. Thus, if you have a small game, it will fit on a cd. but, most of the playstation 2 games are to big for a cd, so the company puts it on a dvd. if you want to make a backup of it then, then you need to put it on a dvd too, otherwise there's not enough room.

what do you mean by this?

Or onto a HDD :)

There is quite a few PS2 games that are on cd.......
So saying that you can only do it for ps1 games is simply not true....

Just check the game your wanting to backup up.... It will say either "compact disc" or "dvd rom" on the disc itself...

ok, but most games are dvd, plus its better to put them on dvd anyways, cd games ruin your lasers faster. Or so i've been told :)

Or if the bottom of the disc is Blue then its a CD.

If its Silver or Gold then its a dvd.
