hey all, my first post ever (i tried to register before but there was an error  )

but anyway, i have a backed up version of burnout 3, it's an .iso, and i've burnt it with Alcohol 120%, now when i put it in my PS2 it will load up to the screen where my playstation 2 logo appears (with that weird short sound) and after that, my screen stays black :S i don't know what i did wrong, 'cuz i burnt Kingdom Hearts with Nero, and that games works (almost) fine, only sound stutters in movies, and ingame when i press the start button it sometimes hangs and i have to reset.. but it's playable! now burnout 3 is really unplayable.. mayb an EA protection?

i use Arita DVD-R's (worked fine with Kingdom Hearts)
i burnt it at 2.3x (couldn't go slower, sadly enough)
and i have a NEC 2500A

i hope someone can give me an anwser to this problem

kind regards,

Befmanz

Here's a question, what program did you use to create the iso of the game?

Befmanz, Read the forum rules. you are only allowed to backup games that you OWN and only one backup per game at that. You stated you have a backed up version of the game. I can only assume you mean a downloaded *iso which is a big no no here. Consider this a warning. if it happens again you will be banned :(

Yes i know about the rules, i did not download it, i had the game once but it had scratches on it (bought the game from someone else) and is now almost unplayable, so i borrowed it from a friend and copied it, i have used Nero for making the image, i don't know exactly what version i have, i believe version 6.xx

Why not make an .NRG file in Nero and burn that then?

Why should i make an .nrg? is ISO not advisable or something? well anyways.. i still don't know why i can't play Burnout 3..

Hmm, well, it isn't that. But, .NRG files are the standard Nero image format, so just make another image in Nero and reburn - no need to make it ISO...

It doesn't matter if you had the game ONCE.. You have to be in possesion of the game. Working or not. So if you still have the scratched up original its all good. I do believe that's what you said.

Once you get rid of the original though I don't think you have the right to legally own a backup.. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

hmm i don't know about that.. i mean.. i bought it from someone who didn't wanted the game.. but raped the DVD.. with scratches and all, so i did own it, still do.. but it's unplayable now..

as for the image.. i never work with nrg, i always use iso's.. but i don't think that makes a different for the game, still i don't get it, because Kingdom Hearts works fine, and this one isn't.. so i really don't get it..
