I'm almost positive there is a another thread regarding logitech controllers here..... Anyway one of my v1 logitech controllers is also messed up (same problem with the analog, good thing it's only the right one). I would suggest picking up the v2 logitech controllers. It's smaller, lighter, and it looks nicer. It got good reviews from online sites (Can't think of any right now, but I know it got good reviews). I'm picking up 2 of the new logitech controllers when I get back home. :D
I like the V1s - I've had mine nearly 18 months and it's been brilliant :D

Hmm..... you can order from Logitech themselves for $40, or circuit city for $40 as well. Don't really know any other places except for eBay. I'm in Canada right now, and it seems that they aren't getting the v2 for quite a few months.... Guess I'll pick some up when I get back home....
Here's a review fo the v2 controllers:

I wouldn't know if the v2 mess up like the v1, but there is the obvious difference in the size and looks of the controllers between the v1 and v2..... If the v1 is busted, you might as well replace it with the v2. I'd rather get the v2 than a normal sony controller or something b/c of the wireless ability (duh), but I wouldn't go with the other 3rd party brands. Only b/c I have the v1 and loved them. :D I say just go for it, get the v2.
I don't like the look of the V2 and the V1 fits my hand perfectly :D

perhaps u didnt quite understand my question...how do i know that i have a v2 and not a v1 already? is there a difference i should look like to distinguish between the two versions?. the one i bought a couple of months ago uses two AA batteries if thats any good information.

If it uses 2 AA Batteries, then you have the v2 version. The v1 uses 4 AA which is why it is somewhat heavy (I've gotten used to it already :D ). Kind of a shame that the v2 for you messed up already.... it kind of makes me worried how long it really lasts. I've had my v1 for a bit over a year so far and only now it started to mess up. Eh, I think I'll take my chances and pick up a couple of v2s. :D
