Fan noise with HDD

Hi,
After installing a HD into my v10 ps2+matrix infinity, I noticed that the fan seems to rotate at greater speeds making some pretty loud noises (It's not the HD - the noise starts as the fan starts to rotate, a second before the hd begins to spin)
Taking the network module out made the fan rotate slowly and quietly again.
This thing does make alot of sense (HD adding extra heat) but since I haven't seen any remark in that regard I wonder if other people encountered it?

It doies make your fan speed up, but not a great deal - don't worry about it...

in fact its a good job it does.....More current being drawn from the psu means hotter psu and also more kit fitted in ps2 means hotter ps2 overall therefore faster fan means ps2 is dealing with it
