I know its possible to play PAL games with Infinity's new 1.3 update but i was reading about PAL and NTSC and voltage was mentioned.

could a ps2 just play the PAL just like normal, or would i really need some type of converter?

I tested the v1.3 flash with a PAL import on my NTSC system and with no other hardware or patches it played just fine.
