Backup Ps1 games on Dvd-r

My ps2 has a problem reading cd-rs (it's a v4 w/ dms3 v2.0 mod)

and i was wondering if i burned my ps1 backup onto a dvd-r that it would work the same as a cd-r backup?

yes should do,

I was also told that if you put a couple of PSX games onto dvd you cud make a sort of menu so u cud choose between them.

But I dont know if this works.
