The most Tuts 404 or not for use with new games. I had cracked Jagged Alliance 2 with a Tutorial. Works fine. But now i wanna try some other, but most tuts are "Seach the "Please insert CD" String and edit the Jump". New Games using a lot of Protections and i search for tutorials and infos about this.
Restricted Area is a simple protection with GetDrive. I used a lot tutorials, but i need more training. In tuts i see cmp eax, 00000005 and one jump. In RA are 2 Jumps and 0000001, not 0000005. I found no tuts that similarly.
Well, anyone has more tuts? Or anyone want to help me? I try it 4 nights. The most action that i get was a System crash :D
Sorry 4 bad english, hope u understand me...
PS: I know, to learn cracking is a long way, but without help (tuts etc.) i will never learn it :(

First rule: don't be lame and never do posts like this. They'll lead you nowhere.
Second rule: no one will serve you a checklist to "manipulate" programs on a silver plate. So, don't ask for it.
Third rule: experiment. Search on the web for infos, study. Rinse and repeat.
There ya go

Why don't you trace it with a debugger? If it's only cd-checks, you can play around with breakpoints quite a lot. Don't trust that GetDriveTypeA api, it's better to trace the code than just simple try put in some "Random jump" ;)

@Phobos:
I can't believe that you're thinking you can set rules on this board....
