Will the HDLoader work with a dial up connection/network adaptor? If so, how does it affect the download times?

you dont need to be connected to the internet to use hdloader you just need the NA to physically connect the hd to the ps2. the hd plugs into the NA the NA plugs into the ps2

If you're reffering to using and playing online with HDLoader, then sorry, HDLoader will not allow you to play online from the Hard Drive :(

LUFCF: i have heard of people playing on line thorugh hdloader (twisted metal black) but i didn't understand that? i was under the impression that hdloader disabled the N/As ability to go online? can anyone shed sum light on this situation?

it wont work with dnas protected games if the game is online and has no dnas then you can go online ie tony hawk underground has dnas cant play it online with hdloader. tony hawk 4 does not have dnas you can play it online with hdloader

thats messed up.. wud it be completly outta the world to say it would be possible to create a proggie which takes out dnas from a game/ .iso which can be set back to the ps2/hdd and is playable? or is dnas used thoughout the whole game (at times)?

you can patch the DNAS protected games and still play online as far as I know. there are programs that can read out the original disc ID and patch the image with that.

Copying DNAS to disc is very easy, but it would be cool if you could patch the DNAS on the HDD :)

i was refering to patching dnas for hdloader (hdd) i was talking about completly erasing the dnas file from the .iso then sending it to the hdd.. anyone think thad work?

No because that file is checked when you try to go online. If it wasn't there, then you wouldn't get on... (Hope that answers what you meant)... :)

ya i was kinda asking that.. Here is my idea.. take the .iso and find the files wich is dnas, delete all dnas files and the checker file.. then when going online there is not even a check!

lol..now there's a good one :D. 2 bad that if u load a game, the sony server WILL ask or DNAS verification, and since u dont have one, u won't get online.

trust me i tried all. am just patching the games, and play them of the dvd.

BUT. I f am wrong..please fill me in about it :)

ok, but what if you just patch your ISO and load it to HDD?! that would let you play from hdd and you wouldn't need a dvd anymore, right?

that's just what I meant last time.

People playing from HDD Online are playing games without DNAS

sure? because if you've got a patched iso on your HDD it shouldn't matter if you play it from hdd or from dvd! so it should work (even from HDD), but the specific game has to be DNAS-patched (the same way you do it with your dvds).

No, it does matter because the game is read off from DVD to HDD. The data, rather like copy protection is not read off the disc, so even if you've patched it Jay_T my friend, it isn't going to make a jot of difference :)

ok ok, thx for teachin'
was just curious, cuz I thought it wouldn't matter whether you load a patched DNAS game from hdd or from disc.

so, maybe an update will fix this somehow.

what about HDadvance? why didn't sony close that down, yet? any ideas?

Teachin' lol :)

I understand your curiosity though. As for HDAdvance - I can't wait 'till that is shut down - in fact, I have a good mind to report it myself ;)
