hi, i have some doubts about trying to change 4x4 music tracks with echelon selfboot tutorial.

i've already tried wav injector and it works, but my music is truncated. i want to try the echelon method, but i can understand this part very well:

10) Open up a DOS Prompt and switch to your "cdda" directory. Type in the
following command:

copy track03.wav track01.wav

After doing this, You should have generated Tracks 1 - 3, You should
now have 3 4-second dummy tracks as Tracks 1 - 3, and have real CDDA
from 4 -> End.

4x4 evo has 10 tracks, in nr.1 and 2 there's nothing but silence, and from nr3. to 9 there are the music tracks. track 10 is data.

so, how could i use the echelon method, when it says that audio tracks would be from 4 to end? if tracks 01 02 and 03 plus the real 4x4track number (9) does it make 12 tracks? would tracks 1 , 2 and 3 generated by the selfboot method screw upthe selfboot audio track since it's real music and no silence for booting it? help!

i would just follow the structure of the original cd. does track 3 play in the game? if so, just make 2 dummy tracks with the real cdda starting at track 3.

btw, arent you the guy that made ssf2x with hyper fighting music. i'm ready to make my own, but i have a few questions on exactly what i should do. i cant seem to PM you for some reason, so drop me an email.

well, you see, 4x4 evo has:

1st track: audio, just 6 secs. for selfboot thing
2nd track: audio, slience for almost 4 secs.
from 3rd to 9th track: audio, the game bgm
10th track: data

now...during playing the game, sometimes it doesn't load any music (it loads 1 track randomly in all stages) so i'm assuming that it loads the 2nd audio track, well really i dunno about that, so i'm wondering if inserting 1 audio track from mine would screw it up,'cause maybe it's also part of the selfboot thing...but that stuff about no music at all in some race tracks is troubling me.

i remember i had to use trackmerge on the image because the first 2 tracks were only 2 seconds long and my burner cant burn those. so i guess you got a trackmerged image. which means track 1 and 2 were merged into one track. so you can try burning 3 dummy tracks followed by the real cdda at track 4. after the cdda, -msinfo to make the iso...etc..

see if it works then.
