I am trying to make a backup of my dragonball z dvd using dvd shrink. First, I tried using dvd shrink, but it said that it was unable to read it. So, I used dvd decrypter to put on my hd. The image went fine. But now when I try to compress the dvd with shrink it get to 100% and says, "Out of memory, the perameter is incorrect". What does this mean exactly? also, how do I go about fixing this problem or what programs can I use instead of dvd shrink. My burner is a pioneer 107d and my OS is XP. Everything is fine on my HD as well.

I also am having problems backing up a couple others in my library all of these will not read straight off of the dvd, so I have done the same as with my dragonball z one:

The Punisher and Pitch Black (new version)- using dvd decrypter. Then used shrink, starts to encode to 1% and preview screen stays black for a few seconds and says, "programming error- exception occured"

Jason X-Using dvd decrypter. Then used shrink to open file and says, "failed to open file C:\dvdfiles\jason_X\video_TS.IFO The system cannot find the file specified.

If anyone has time to answer my questions, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Do you have the latest version of DVDDecrypter? You may also wanna try AnyDVD. Make sure your discs are clean too.

All of the disks were clean. I also downloaded a trial version of anyDVD 3.9.3.6 and it still isn't working. I keep getting the same messages for the dvds as mentioned above. I was wondering, for anyDVD to work right, do you need to use the DVD to get the files for shrink onto shrink (open disk)or can you export files (open files) that you already have on your hd from decrypter onto shrink?

AnyDVD works with your dvd drive to read the files from the disc without protections. It doesnt do anything for images already on your hdd.

Your not doing anything wrong and it has nothing to do with anydvd. Punisher is a lions gate film. They are using a new form of protection that will loop when you try to shrink confusing shrink and causing the error you see. But there is an easy fix.

1 use dvd decrypter and put the dvd on your HD

2 load up the files into dvd shrink

3 highlight the unreferenced material at the bottom

4 in the compression drag down window on the right where it says automatic change it to still image

5 click back up

6 feel good about yourself you now have a good backup

I dont know where you get your info from Shop Smart but I got Punisher to back up without doing anything youve done. All I did was use Anydvd and CloneDVD2.

Easy as pie, 30min entire process.
