games won't play(stop And Start

I have reformatted my computer and now i can't play my games,Farcry and Call of duty.I could before i reformatted.I also recieved an update(service pack 2)i don't know if that would have anything to do with it.Done everything the same as before but nothing.anyone got any ideas.

someone move it to general gaming, install all ur drivers... and ull be able to play.

I'd say Service Pack 2 is your problem! Many people have complained about it ruining games! Someone else may be able to confirm this as I havent installed it yet as I have read about many problems with it. Somewhere there is a list of all the programs that dont work once Service Pack 2 is installed, but I cant remember where it is! Search the forums as I think there is a link to the site that details the problems. But I do feel you will be reformatting again very soon!
