guys im just thinking about my cd player.. well i am planning on buying a new one later this year.. well i was just thinking that with my old one.. if i cud take the laser out and put in a dvd laser.. would i be able to play dvd-rs loaded with mp3s or Windows Media Audio? cuz i wud rather have one dvd-r with a lot of songs then 15+ cds...
anyone know if this would work?

erm well i dunno nothing bout that kinda thing, but i think if the only diff between both pieces of hardware was the laser, then i doubt the price range would be so different.

It would probably need new firmware as well, assuming the lasers use the same ammount of power and are a perfect fit on the mount.
