I have a strange problem with my CD-RW discs.
Most of the discs are low-cost CD-RW discs.
The 2 images below are the top & bottom side of one of my media.

The brand of the media is not my main concern.
My question is:
1. What is that worm-like path on the near edge of the disc? It's like it is eating the disc.
2. What caused it?
3. How to prevent it?

Any input is appreciated.
I thank you in advance.

Looks like the media is seperating from itself.

Not really. Discs are made from a couple pieces of plastic and whatevers in the middle (dye and other stuff) that are sandwiched together. I imagin if its too hot like if you left it on your dash of your car or in water or something the disc may seperate.

I've seen this happen alot with cheap media. Like TD said, the back cover on the cd is seperating from the disc.

Wow that looks likes its about to flake off and any data there is pretty much a goner. Try using the verbatim brand media. mine have held up quite well over the years.
