are you using a rewritable (rw) dvd instead of -r/+r dvd?

You probably wont be able to use RW's. Thats just something you might have to deal with. Movies are easier to read, but ps2 games require more effort.

CD-RW’s work fine on my V7, I did have to turn the pot down very slightly to stop CDRW’s from skipping a little, like 1380 ohms to 1320, hardly anything really.

I’ve tried CDRW’s on V4’s and V9’s and the PS2’s would not read them at all, just horrible laser sounds.

I don’t have any DVD-RW’s to try but I’m doubtful the even a V7 would read one, but you never know. If someone else with a V7 would Try a DVD-RW and post what happens… I might be tempted to buy a DVD-RW to play around with. Does it try to read a bit and skip/lockup of just click and screech? If it attempts to load then A little Pot tweaking will probably work. If you don't have a V7 then probly' don't even bother.

Damn, I sold my good V7 last weekend thinking I’ve got another V7 waiting for a chip. It better read CDRW’s like my last one did!!!

rather than adjusting the laser pot u might want to try moving the laser slightly closer to the disc to get the rw to read. Personally i wouldn't put a rw into either of my ps2's as even if it does read it will fraz yr laser very quickly. :)

I got my V7 to read a Maxell DVD-RW. Think it was NBA Streets Vol. 2. I was curious and wanted to know if it could read a DVD-RW or not.Anyway I erased it and put it on a regular DVD-R.
