I have just purchased a new Plextor 12X burner and wondering what media is best suited for it. I have never copied DVDs before and also wonder what software is the best. From what I am reading CloneDVD and AnyDVD might be my first choice.

CloneDVD2 is a great burning application, but I would use dvd decryptor before I used anydvd. The only problem I've found so far, is that clonedvd2 likes to auto eject the disc when it has completed the burn. I need to be able to turn that off, if I can. :(

I dont see why you would want to use DVD Decrypter first. Anydvd does the same thing but pretty much better. You can run both if your really cautious. But I see no need.

because dvd decryptor doesn't need to stay in memory to do it's thing, It dumps the raw DVD to your hard disk; and you can do whatever you need too with it from there. With anydvd, your basically paying good money for a program to sit in ram, chew up resources to decrypt css on the fly; when you could just decrypt it to the hard disk in one shot and be done with it.
But to each his/her own I suppose.

Well at least you made sense. But in all honesty, I dont notice any resource chewing. Ive veiwed it in Task Manager and its very low on the charts.

As for media. Your best bet is Ritek or anything with GO3 or GO4 dye.
