Hi everyone, here's a couple of silly questions from a Newbie :

I recently got an internet connexion at home and decided to try multiplayer games, so I went to a rental place and rented Battlefield 1942...
As you can imagine, I was more than satisfied (except maybe for the netcode which s**ks  ) and decided to buy the game.
I changed the CD key to the one from the game I bought, but I didn't wan't to re-install (heck, who actually LIKES to go through an install process ?), could it be considered illegal to play with a legal CD Key BUT with an "illegal" install

Apart from that, a friend of mine suggested that since he was going on vacation, I could borrow Call of Duty from him and play as long as he's away...
Is that legal

Thanks in advance for answering and my apoligses for my crummy english :(

It's legal, as long the game is only on 1 PC the same time.
So your friend has to uninstall the game from his PC, then you can install the game on your PC. That is to be kept the software licence.

This depends in which country you are, in some it is not allowed to lend a game to someone else, as the lender is not the legal owner of the game. Rental places pay for his to be able to lend games out to people.

as long as ur using the cd key that came with your bought copy then its legal as u do own a copy, and the install is the same for everyone aniways so you wont get fbi at ur door dont worry lol.

Sorry for not saying this earlier, but thanks a lot for the info !
My friend came back so now I'm going to have to buy Call of Duty...
Doesn't matter, it's worth it :)
