Hey Guys, I'm new to this and i've been doing quite a bit of reading and I know the overwhelming opinion is swap discs suck and to go with a mod. I agree a mod would be much less time consuming but are swap discs really all that bad?..
I do own that magic set with the flip top lid V7 and other than the little extra effort I don't see anything wrong with them.. They've worked great on all of my games (about 14) from atv offroad to spiderman 2.. I would of course go with the mod if I had the time and resources.. But why are they so dang evil? Sacrificing a shorter wait time i'm able to keep my collecting in really nice shape while using my backups.. isn't that the whole point? I'm just wondering why so much negativity against them..
Yep, they really are that bad ;)
At the end of the day, why swap and boot, when you can just boot?

Dang.. I never looked at it like that.. All so clear now..
*Tosses that crap and buys a Mod*
I've seen the light, can't believe myself sometimes..

Im sure you drink Guiness for that rich stout taste. Now you can go out and get any old beer just to get drunk but wouldnt you rather have a Guiness?

Pure poetry right there..
Why can't everyone understand this..
I appreciate a dude that can appreciate a good beer.
And to make sure this stays on topic.. I do enjoy drinking a frosty guiness while playing my PS2... Not such a great tie in.. but uh.. yea..

No, I find what it all comes down to is 2 types of ppl:
A) the Lazy kind, (but maybe lazy is too strong a word) who just want the games to boot right away
B) the patient kind, who dont MIND an extra 10-15sec to swap discs (I know, cause im one :P)
Dont bash the flip-top just cause YOU "A" group ppl dont like it!
Some people prefer it, and its easier to install, and cheaper too!
Just my opinion on the subject ;)

Ive heard the lazy issue plenty of times. Thats BS! Im here teaching people every day and not being lazy. I work 12 hour days and thats not being lazy. All I want is a hassle free mod. Swap discs are not them! There are hella posts with "I have a swap disc and so-and-so game doesnt work" threads, its pathetic.
Plus your giving your money to a thieving bastard Z.
That should be reason enough!

I agree with Tyler on his reply. Mod chips are much more superior than the flip top swaps. Easier doesnt necessarily mean lazy as the modded consoles have more reliabilty to game backups and less probs in regard to games that may not work with the ole swap-a-roo. It may be true that flip tops are cheaper and easier to install but in the long run you save that extra money on the wear of the laser. This is one of the main reasons we recommend the mod chip over the flip top swap. ;)
Of course you are entitled to your own opinion and preference. :p
I foresee an upcoming "where can I get a replacement laser" thread? :D
