Anyone got this game to sucessfully load on the PS2 from hd? I get a 100% install with no read errors on the HD but it will not load on the PS2. I have tried with the Original as well as a backup. I get the same result with both.

Have you tried it with the different modes in HDLoader?

According to the list i posted here (http://fileforums.com/showthread.php?t=62743) you need Paradox +78 trainer patch (whatever that is).

Edit: Found it here (http://playstation2.cheats.de/cheats_nurtitel.php?onlytitel=Soul+Calibur+2&system=PS2)

pick Trainer for US +78

to patch it use PPF-O-Matic 3.0

I will try the patch and post the results. Got the same problem with Warhammer.

I ripped SC2 to the hard drive with dvddecrypter and then patched it with the +78 trainer with ppf o matic and tried all different modes on HDLoader and didn't load. Anyone else got it to work?

There are 2 patches a US one and the PAL version. So if you live in US use the US version, live in Euope use the PAL version.

I used the US patch on my US version, didn't work

for NCAA Football 2005, you need to use it on Mode 3

Found something else. Pretty weird method but if t works.Problems with soul calibur2+trainer+hdloader

some said, that the paradox trainer patched to SC2 will make it booting with hdloader. i tried this 4 times!!!

if i start sc2 right after installation, it boots to the trainer, and after that to the game.

but after turning on the ps2 again, it will hang after the trainer menu (black screen) and just stops loading!!??

so i just can boot sc2 after the installation.

what can i do?? to solve this problem?? (maybe without hooking the hd up to the pc)i solved the problem by myself.

i will post what did make it working, maybe it will help others with the same problem!

-make an iso of sc2 us version
-patch it with the trainer
-install it via hd loader
-IMPORTANT!! you have to boot the game with a disc in the ps2 tray!!!
-at the trainer menu, take the disc out and close the tray
-now push start, and it will boot fine (with a disc still in the drive after the trainer menu, it will freeze)

thats how it behaved on my ps2 v4 with messiah, strange, but finally its working!

I got this method from someone else, I haven't tried it yet

1 copy contents of soul calibur 2 except the system.cnf file to a folder on your pc

2 copy cdloader7 files to same folder. the files you need are:
system.cnf
msystem.cnf
scee_dd - this is a file folder
fifademo - this is a file folder
dummy.000
cd7bet52.elf

3 using the notepad, edit the system.cnf to say:
BOOT2 = cdrom0:\CD7BET52.ELF;1
VER = 1.00
VMODE = PAL

4 using the notepad, edit the msystem.cnf to say:
\SOUL CALIBUR 2\cdrom0:\SLUS_206.43;1

5 are you newbies still with me? your folder should now look like this:
dummy.000
slus_206.43
bgm.afs
movie.afs
pad_0.dat
pad_1.dat
pad_2.dat
cd7bet52.elf
fifademo - this is a file folder
irx - this is a file folder
scee_dd - this is a file folder
root.olk
msystem.cnf
system.cnf
flistd.txt

6 now i use hp record now to burn these to dvd, but whatever you use should work.

7 now after you have your modified backup of sc2, just install it on your hdd using hdloader by whatever method is needed in your situation

I have HDAdvance, have patched the US version with the +78 trainer and it works perfectly with no modes selected.

If you turn anything, and I mean anything on in the trainer though it doesn't work.
