I successfully installed the m@trix infinity on v7 today.I used double sided sticky tape on the ch!p to hold it down and follow the exact installation diagrams of norcalmods.com infinity v7.

I tested;
PSX b@ckup/0riginal=works
DVD b@ckup/0riginal =works(green screen is gone using scart)
PS2 0riginal =works( shows the PS2 logo with infinity v1.0)
PS2 b@ckup =Not tested

I have a hot glue gun avaliable.Should i put glue on the 4 corners of the ch!p and all the solder connections?

Thanks
:)

No, but some along the wires here and there to hold them flat would be a good idea. I have also just finished my first mod install in a V5 using a Duo chip. Now just to wait on that new Laser Ribbon and we'll see if it works! :)

Like lufcfan said, use it to tack the wires to the board so they dont get pinched during reassembly. I never use it on the chip.
@ Lufcfan, good luck on the install :)

I used a small bit of electrical tape to hold the chip down, I imagine this is ok. I kept the wires very short and did not tak them down, suprisingly it worked once I figured out how it went back together, though I have an extra screw, heh.
