wich DVD burner you recommend for ps2 backups?
LG GSA-4082
PIONEER 1O7 DVD±R x8
Sony DVD±R DWU18A
TEAC DVW58D012 DVD±R
LG, Pioneer, and Sony are all good. Most people here use Pioneer, including myself.

Yes to play back ups, you will need a mod chip. Check out the ultimate sticky. It has alot of useful info there. ;)

I have the Sony DWU-18a and its very solid, its the OEM version of the DRU-530a...its a damn solid burner never had any trouble and all my backups had worked first time everytime at max speed.
NOTE: I had also used Ritek RiData and Ritek RiDisc for all my backups as the were recommended by videohelp.com to be the most compatible with my burner.
