Hello, this is my first post:

About a year ago I backed up a documentary dvd to my computer's hard drive using dvd decrypter. It created a folder and 3 files as follows:

G:\09\DVD\Red RED\DVD-RED_RED_SCN

G:\09\DVD\Red RED\DVD-RED_RED_SCN\T02P00_0.vob
G:\09\DVD\Red RED\DVD-RED_RED_SCN\Default.PLS (1,048,576 kb)
G:\09\DVD\Red RED\DVD-RED_RED_SCN\T02P00_1.vob (1,048,576 kb)
G:\09\DVD\Red RED\DVD-RED_RED_SCN\T02P00_2.vob (424,692 kb)

I could perfectly read and hear the resulting files using Power DVD.
My computer at the time only had a dvd-rom drive.

Yesterday I installed an Imation IMWDVRW8DI internal dvd +-RW Burner that came with
Sonic My DVD software.
Using the included Sonic RecordNow DX Version 4.6 I wanted to copy those files to a DVD +R
blank DVD to play in my 4 year old pioneer DVD player that I know for sure reads recorded DVD +Rs.

I used the following options:
- create a music or data disk
- make a data disk.

It burned the DVD, an it can be read in my computer dvd rom, but is not recognised by the home DVD player
that ejects it after a few seconds. It knows it is a dvd.

Can you please tell me how to copy those files to DVD +R so they can be played in my home DVD player.
I do not have the original DVD any more.

Regards.

Ok all the files need to be in a folder called VIDEO_TS spelled exactly like that and in all caps. Also make another folder called AUDIO_TS with absolutely nothing in it. Open up your RecordNow DX and choose DATA burn method. Drag your VIDEO_TS folder (with all the files youve mentioned, in it) into the box. Then drag AUDIO_TS into the box as well (it should still have nothing in it). Now just insert your blank dvd and burn.

Thanks very much for the quick response.
I will try that today and test it at home.

Well this is what happened after your reply:

- Organised the folder as you indicated.
- the software totally refuses to burn it when I press record.
- I get an error message that indicates that need to check the media. It was ejecting it.
- I have tried the following brand new media: Imation DVD +R, Teac DVD-R, and Imation DVD-RW. I thought the burner had died. But after doing some tests, it appears to be burning anything else but those two directories.
- So I devised a workaround and created an iso file using nero 5 and burnt it with record it now. It recorded it to a DVD RW and can play it on the DVD ROM but does not play on the home dvd. My dvd player at home plays DVD RWs for sure.

Do you have any idea why the software totally refuses to burn those two directories?

I dont know why Sonic wont burn them. Ive had problems with Sonic before and still had Stomp (basically an older version of the same program). Stomp will burn those directories.

Or you can get CloneCD2 and it too will burn them as a dvd disc.

Very frustrating:
I checked the dvd I made creating the image file in Nero and was copied to DVD but does not play in the home DVD. Do you think there are files missing from the ripping process or something like that. Maybe the names are not correct. I am running out of ideas. I could burn it using Clone dvd but do not know how to.

thanks guys.

CloneDVD2 pretty much walks you through the whole ordeal. Just get it and try that. Also you may wanna try your discs in other devices. Maybe your standalone is to blame.
