PS2 Mod chip Question

Hello Im asking about the Mars 2 mod chip. Is the Mars 2 chip ok for the ps2 and doesnt interfer much with the ps2 as in causing damage " thats what i got from a site . Over all is it a ok chip?

Don't go for the Mars. Go Duo / Duo 2, Matrix Infinity or Magic V
