Does anyone know how to patch a XPS file?

I have to patch a XPS file to a Japanese game that able to detect modchip. Now, I have CDRWIN, and the XPS patch file. How do you patch it? I have not familiar with the MSDOS system. Does anyone have any step by step instructions on how to do it?
