Far Cry sound problem

I have the soundblaster audigy 2 zs and logitech z-680 speakers. When I go out of far cry and then go back in the center channle is not outputting any sound. then i have to set the speaker setting, in the game, to stereo and then exit. then i have to go back into the game, set the speaker setting to surround and then exit again. then i look at my speaker setting in the surround mixer for creative and they default to stereo speakers. so then, i have to change that setting back to 5.1 and then go back into the game. then it works. i have the most recent updates for the sound card. has anyone else had this problem? or am i the lucky one to have it first?

well im not sure if its the same but aniways, the sb live series and the audigies have 3 main outputs, 2 that are togueter (green & Black) that are the normal ones and another one (not sure wat colour as this was on my opld pc) that i used to use for headphones since the speakers didnt have socket for headphones, thing is, it wouldnt work on surround for the headphones and i had to change it to 4-5 speaker stereo, so maybe u got em connected in the wrong place and are suffering from that.

thanks for the reply. no that is def not the problem. the audigy uses an orange, green, and then black. they are def connected correctly. i get the surround sound to work perfectly but i have to go through the steps above. on all my other games it works fine. it is just this game. it has to be some type of glitch in the game. i must be the only lucky person with this problem. i love the game but this is annoying. i am hoping that if they ever release the patch it will solve this problem. i am thinking about uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but i feel this will not solve the problem. :eek:

could it be that Farcry only supports 5.1? I have the Audigy 2 Platnium and most games that only allow 5.1 will also changes my settings just like yours! But I dont have to go thru all that you do to get it back! And Farcry works great with the Audigy cards.
