Hey guys, gotta quick question, this does regard HDLoader as well.

Ive been reading that you can load your backups into the HDD as long as you have a mod, which I do I have the Magic V. Anyhow, my question is, how do I enable the modchip with a HDD in it?

I ask this because, when I got my SOny HDD, I installed it, and attempted to play bacup games, now the system told me that they werent original ps2 games.

How do I enable the modchip with my hdd in? I know it can be done because someone with the hdloader and a magic v has installed backups.

Thanks

I dont think you can use your modchip with the Official Sony HDD installed. Take it out and your games should play again.

To solve the problem, get a 3rd party HDD. Maxtor are the best ones to use with PS2. Then use HD Loader. The max supported size is 137GB :)

Because it has a way of detection that its there. If you get a third party HDD such as a Maxtor 120GB it wont detect your modchip and when you boot the HDD loader the first time it will ask if you want to format the HDD to the PS2 file system then your ready to go. Just keep the official Sony HDD around for when you want to play FFXI or whatever online, just swap out the third party one with the original.
