I am using a Pioneer DVR-106 burner, with anyDVD and CloneDVD to burn movies. Until recently I have never had any problems. With the past few movies, there have been skips and jumps through the movie. Nothing has changed. I have checked my computer for viruses and Adware. Nothing. How can I live without my DVD burner??

Also, I am wondering if there is any good firmware for this drive. The whole "Pioneer is not responsible if this destorys your burner, and your life" disclaimer is a little worrisome for me. ;) I'm hoping someone might have some experience here....

Thanks guys.

The topic of this thread is misleading. This is more like DVD Movie problems. Im betting either your having problems with media or even your burner. Try the firmware updates.

You're right - The title was misleading. Now fixed!! :o

So how about firmware. How do you get it? How do you use it? What are the risks? What happens if the firmware is incorrect??

Just go to www.pioneerelectronics.com and search for your model of dvd burner. Download the latest firmware update and read the the text file that comes with it. Usually youll get little program that pretty much does everything for you all you gotta do is follow the instructions. Its actually very easy, as easy as updating software for your pc.
