I recently bought a premodded PS2 with the Infinity chip, the chip has not preformed up to specs.

I have repetedly asked questions on other forums and continuasly look for help on other pages.

the problems are as follows, some of my ps1 backups and originals do not work, no video but i am getting sound, originally I thought it was only backups but I bought Castlevania:sotn and it does the same, if I disable the chip it boots and plays fine if I boot the backups with a Gameshark they will boot, though sotn screws up as soon as the charachter takes two steps it acts as though I beat the first part, and then goes to the game proper. one of the backups plays video and then gets to the title screen, once there nothing but sound, I can start the games and try to play them but nothing shows up.

I have tried reburning and this fixed some of the games I had that would do nothing but not the ones that were getting no vid.

on diffrent but related note, some of the games are not playing at all, one or two come up as ps2 discs.... I am uasure if this is related or not. the media i am using seems to work fine beyond these problems, what could this be, any help is appreciated.

What media are you using? the infinity should boot everything flawlessly every try, if not i would send it back to installer.

Obviously the install was bad. Send the console back. BTW who did you purchase it from?

True, In most cases (not all, oviously) they are tested several times before being made available for purchase. Definitely consult with the purchase place. They may even replace it with a different console if they value your business and referals.

I already have updated the chip to 1.2 (newest last time i looked which was about a week ago) it was the first thing I did. and what is really upseting is that I have at least 15 games that if I want to play them I gotta load them with a Gameshark, I really wouldn't mind except that I shelled out the extra cash for something that was supposed to not need it, I think I am gonna get back up with them and try to exchange this chip, it certainly does not function as advertised.

The company I got it from was www.quick-mods.com, and it seems they just stopped selling the DMS3 altogether.

Any other comments or suggestions welcome, the Honest truth is I would prefer to keep this chip, but I also want it to do what it is supposed to do, Thanks again.

Is this game a PS1 mod protected game?

The Infinity fails with spyro3 as well which is a mod protected PS1 game. I have email them and they are working on this in the next bios release v1.3 will be coming out soon i hope.

Yeah, they're releasing 1.3 in the next few weeks when the programmer gets over his Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. :) Roll on, roll on...

No, these games are not mod protected as far as I know, some of the games are Castlevania Symphony of the night, tomb raider, and Legacy of Cain Soul Reaver.

I also tried to contact the MATRIX team, no response in over 2 weeks but I realize that they probably get hundreds of mails a day.
