What do you mean by a 'good cd key'? Do you mean a valid key that came with your purchased copy?

Alot of online games have access to your hard drive and its very easy for them to check to make sure that the exe is untouched in anyway. Its their solution for slowing cheaters.
You'll have to hope for a NO-CD that works online.
Of course Talus, cuz im also makin my virtual cd with the real cd of warcraft, using gamedrive, and used the .iso of an ''purchased'' cd of mine and none of these work. Tho I found a working no cd for ROC on 1.15, but i need frozen throne, so im still hoping :)

@ D3mOnj03
Some advice for you!! Give it back to your M8 and go and buy your own copy!! What you are doing is illegal!! And no-one is going to help you here!!
What you are actually doing is STEALING!! Therefore making games dearer for the rest of the gaming community!!

this is not necessarily true, he could have purchased just the cd key off of ebay for example. although without the original cd this is definitely not the place for help, this is for legit, purchased copies only.

Don't know when the copyrights laws was written. But borrowing digital-material make a copy and return the original to the source, is illegal! If you had keept the disc and cd-key it's legal (if the source have deleted the game on his computer or not use the game by the mean time you have the disc/discs).
All this legal, not legal thing should be cleared up AND written in the boarder rules. I'm shure that a moderator read this and might agree and fix this, so we don't need to explain to every godname newbies!

Often they use terms like this: "You are allowed to install this on ONE computer bla bla bla..."
If you don't OWN it, then **** off! Nuff said. :D

And if you buy it from the friend for let say 34$ and then he buys it back for 34$ later you own (borrow the game) for a while. Dose the Nuff disagree with that to? ;p
