I hope you don't mind that i will be barrowing your topic for a question of my own seaney, it just didn't feal right making a new topic for the exact same question.

Anyways, what about a chip? I found one for like $5 at this site here:
http://www.modyoursystem.com/playstation1modlink.html

another for 6 here:
http://www.xinga.com/shop/show.php?product=PS2180 (has, US/JPN/UK bios)
I don't see a playstation version, but it is the same chip used for all other mods. Any other ones that cheap, with more info about the chip?

yah, I have found several sites when I was looking for my chip. They were all like that. I don't know why, since it costs less than $2 for a package letter and to send it, $1 for insurance. Should be half the cost of the chip, instead it's a little more.

i know it its about the same weight as sending a letter and should be same price.

when i got my duo x it was only 28 p stamp and maybe about 50 p for the jiffy bag thats all should only cost about £1 postage. This is where companys make there money.

The reason sites have higher shipping is because if anyone ever has a problem the price of the product can easily be refunded. Since shipping almost never gets refunded in these situations they still keep they profit.

Ebayers do it for another reason as well. They do it because ebay charges you for the winning bidders price. Not the shipping. So basically thats a way to skip out on paying top dollar to ebay for using their services.
