And what would be your problem?
What version of the game are you running?

The version number is displayed somewhere when you start the game - on a splash screen or menu screen.

And for my first question?

This is my entire problem and why i need the no-cd patch... I have played the game before using the disc but the disc has been damaged (Snapped) I have tried extracting the data from the disc using isobuster and other software but nothing will get the info back. So now when i try to start the game it doesn't get past the screen that says please insert the correct cd-rom even though it is in the drive so i cannot get to another screen that has the version number on! so is there another way i can find out the Version number????

Contact EA Games for a replacement disk

@MegaMonkey:

Just use the latest update (V1.4) and the crack for it.
Be sure you use the right crack (US <-> EURO).
For the reason the movie files have other names in both versions, you will get the "Insert Disc 2"-Message when you use the wrong crack.

Thanks GLH will do! and i have contacted EA they told me i'd have to pay for it again when i'm not spending more dosh on a new disk!!

I dont believe that, in any case ud have to pay a small fee but not for the whole game as i did with c&c generals

In the manuals of most of my games, on the last site, is a information "How to get a new disc" if lost/damage the original.

Often you only have to prove the purchase of the game and pay the "transport cost" (german: Porto).

YO Ghosth@cker, about your statement "the verison # is somewhere when you start the game" On Battlefield Vietnam I've failed to find the version # up until now. Not saying its not there somewhere but i have just failed to find it. You wouldnt know wherer it is do you?

I was referring to Need for Speed: Underground

Try mooching around for the version number, or just download the latest.
AFAIK there's 1.00, 1.01 and 1.02

This is rapidly getting off topic.

If you havent downloaded any updates from EA, then your BFV is ver 1.00.

If you have downloaded an updated from EA then your BFV is whichever version you have updated to (1.01 or 1.02).

Usually, the best thing to do with any game is to get the latest updates. This allows multiplay with others and you'll know what version you are on.
