Hi all,

We just installed an Matrix Infinity chip into a v10, worked great.

We put in the official ps2 hard drive, and the chip quits working on us.

Well, we went to their website, that stated we needed the new version of firmware. Done.

We got the firmware updated, and the chip still doesn't work with the hard drive in the ps2!!!

Any ideas what could be causing this? Is there a special way to turn the chip on with the HDD installed? Or is there a special program that needs to be installed on the memory cards?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

OK, we finally figured it out.

You have to hold down the select button to put it in quick boot mode when you turn it on, otherwise the chip just plain won't work with the HDD. Damn Matrix for not telling ya that in the readme or on their website.

Lock it & Log it. ;)

I thought I mentioned how to do this already in another thread.

You would have thought it would be a simple enough fix wouldn't you - so why can't they release a flash which stops the problem altogether???

That was a fair while ago wasn't it? What are the advantages of 1.3 then (if anyone knows that)?
