i have a old ver ps2 it's a scph-18000 . it could not read dvd+r , dvd+/- rw
can i just change a new laser head to read it or any other method to read dvd+r , dvd+/- rw. sorry my english is not good .

No. You are going to have to use DVD-R which is the best sort of media anyway for your laser. You will find that your console won't read any +R media and nor will it read ANY type of DVD-/+ R/W

Make sure you get some DVD-R with Ritek dye. Discs with this include Ritek/Ridata/Datasafe/Datawrite etc...

TDK and Taiyo Yuden discs are also very good.

Dude, Do you want to play dvd+r yep?

What i suggest is selling your ps2 on ebay, depending if you got a mod or not say £80 start with controllers and that they prob sell dont mention what version it is tho. Then buy a new one V10 that can play +R

Either sell it or keep it. A new one is your only option, in regard to playing the + media. If buying a new one is not an option, then - media will have to do.
