i have an athlon XP 2500
asus 7n8x mobo
1024 ram
win xp
etc

2 questions

1.i have an athlon xp 2500.directx sais that
Processor: AMD K6 (Model 10), MMX, 3DNow, ~1.8GHz

i had a 2400 that said athlon xp 2400.is this normal?

2.when i play games(vice city, sacred)after a while the pc stops responding(needs restart)i disabled the sound and the problem solved.so the problem is my audio card...it's an sb live and the drivers are 7/1/01.you think that this is the problem?can't find the specific drivers.i get lots of drivers for this card from the official site

ok basicly, wen they call it amd 2.4 its like a pentium 2.4 but amd use a different kind of meassure wich comes up as 1.8 but basicly wat u have there is the equivalent of a pentium 2.4 get me? now the second thing could be because its an sb live integrated card and as u may know integrated sound cards are always dodgy.

i have this card a long time.only with some athlon the problem occures.maybe i should download the latest drivers

well i have the drivers from wen i had the SB Live! 1024 if thats the same card i suppose i could send the drivers to u

go to creatives' website and use the autoupdate wizard to get the latest drivers.

it's ok my sound card is going to my trash can.i now use the mobos soundcard
