nec nd-2500a confirmed to be compatible with the 2510a dual layer firware.
saw tests of the 2500a flashed and burns same quality as the new nd-2510a
also flashed my drive as well and shows dvd+r9 compatibility
just wish there were dvd+r9 media out:(

figured i'd spred the news for people who don't wanna spend between $200-$300 on new dvdr dl drive when they can pick up the nd-2500 for a pretty cheap price.
i'm guessing after this NEC may pull the 2500 off shelves.

You know what? The 2510 is only 10-20 bucks more than the 2500 at Newegg.

Wierd.

Okay, new guy here, so go easy on me. :)

If I'm reading this thread correctly, then the 2510A firmware will work on my 2500A, and still give me DVD+R DL and DVD-9 writable formats? Or has anyone actually tested this? If you guys are looking for a guinea pig, I'll definately try it, so long as it won't screw up my drive. XD
