Hello All,

I will edit this shortly with a review and a link to some install pictures.

I am currently installing it into a PAL V10 SCPH-50002a PS2.

In the mean time check out info on the chip here:

Basically it seems like the same old Duo chip with the additional 5 points to solder to the newer v9/10.

It woulda been nice if it could stick with the 17 wires.

ok install pictures are up...

review to follow shortly.

Yeah - shame it had to increase from 17 wires to 22...

I have a sneaking suspicion though that wire "Y" is just used as a model select as although it connects to a bios pin - that pin is actually ground...

So unless they are using the ICE code or similar I am not sure why they connect there apart from to hide what they are doing...

Could have just put an onboard bridgeable pad set up - and save on the extra wire... - i.e. V9 and V10 - bridge the pad together...

but then maybe it would not "appear" like it is 100% compatible code with all station models... i.e. Apple3 seemed to not be received as well as it should have been based entirely I think on having the pads to choose which model type you were installing into...

When you post the review would you make a new post about it? I will then sticky it. Thanks Shadow.

Sorry TD - missed your post... oh well...

As to whether it supports HD's - I doubt it - but you will need to ask that question of the Omega team.

All I can say is that I was going to stock the Apple3 but as this chip seems to work fine and maintains the 17 wire set up for V1's to V8's it seems the better option... depending on price...

nice review.

It is good to hear that it works pretty good because the ice code never worked that well on v10 for me anyway. But the ice code is okay on a v9, but it isn't as good as the commerical modchip like magic 5k or bluechip

As far as I can tell - no!

The extra points needed for V9 and V10 stations are simply ignored with the V1 to V8 installs which suggests that functionality and install points remain identical on the older version.

I have one sample left so will either install it in a V9 or my next V3 to V7 that I get a hold of...
