AVI or MPEG to Standard Video

I recently obtained AVI & MPEG copies of "Song of the South" which cannot bought as a standard DVD in this country.

Is there any way to convert either of these formats to the standard DVD format so that the movie can be played on settop boxes?

Yeah, from what I have read, Disney have practically disowned the movie now. Anyways, theres loads of guides out there for this kind of thing. Your first port of call should of been www.doom9.org and www.vcdhelp.com
