Hi, i was wondering if anyone had problems backing up billy hatcher. I had tried backing up the original with the phoenix program and get a lost packet error when i try to back it up. Could the reason be do to me being online at the same time as trying to back up the game?
Thank you in advance

no, its a phoenix bug. Another phoenix problem is that it might freeze at 100%. I suggest using a different program. I backed up billy hatcher fine.

1. is it good to save the files as *.iso or *.gcm? dont matter, its the same format just different extensions.
2. should i not have anything running in the background while doing it? you could run things in the background, it shouldnt slow it down or speed it up.
some error popped up in german when i tried and it piled ontop of one and other :S not sure what error you mean. If you mean hiting "Shutdown Server" button then its normal for a popup error to come up after it finish backing up a game.

are you sure the disc is not dirty? I never had any problems backing up my games. it could also be your PC. If you still cant get it working, try using the original rip tool.

I had the same problem with Phoenix (where it would hang at 100%). The latest version doesnt do that as it checks for lost packets. I also got the lost packet message a few times. What fixed it for me was leaving the computer alone and offline during the ripping process. As for gamecubeserver, i've tried all versions and they hang every time (right when it's suppose to start reading the disc).

i've noticed it goes further in the ripping process if i don't have anything going in the background myself. So far it doesn't get to 100% yet. hopefully I'll get there sometime :)

i never seen that error before. i'm guessing it says the iso is 7Gbs? I think theres something wrong with your connection. If you could steam games fine, then you shouldnt be having a program ripping them.

yeah i can stream them fine, when i click on the *.iso file it says its 1.35gig. the konami screen comes up then that error does..i'll have to keep trying i got this far. you had mentioned something with the connection i noticed if it drops below 256kbs it stops. how do i prevent that?
Thanks for everything man!

well there could alot of causes for the speed droping. it could either be too many programs running on comp, computer not fast enough, ethernet wire mess up, router/firewall blocking some ports.
RocketKid

hrmm now that you mention it, i do have a router but i thought i opened the ports that it had mentioned to stream them, cpu is 2.6 so i'm sure its fast enough, and another concern is i'm on wireless nic card and cat 5 to gamecube to router. i'll look more into that part. do you know the ports i should open up?
TIA

i'll make sure all those are open and from there we'll make more progress. I'll post back with any updates or results.
thanks man
